What Constitution???

You know, that "living document" that liberals like you love to stretch, twist, and mangle in all sorts of fun ways. Funny that you call it a "living document" since you've done as much as the right to try to kill it, maybe even more than the right. It's kinda like interpretive art, watching you try to make the Tenth Amendment disappear, denying the Second says what it does, and creating entirely "Constitutional" rights out of thin air like "the right to privacy."

Gimmie a break, the 10th is hardly a fault of the left, but merely a split caused by the Federalist nature of government today. It's downright ignorant to contribute that to the left. As for the 2nd, yah there are definitely some libs who complain a tad too much for my taste but let them be. The right won't go away anytime soon and neither will your right to bear arms. As far as which side has done more to take away from the Constitution, I'd say both sides are equally guilty of some massively stupid acts that America has thankfully leveled out. All the Constitution needs is time.

well, i can certainly tell how many of you have ACTUALLY READ THE FSCKING CONSTITUTION

'...the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.' USCS Const. Art. III, § 2

are you trying to say that congress can tell supreme court what they can can't hear?

This measure is much needed. The courts in this country are out of control, manufacturing new laws left and right wherever they see fit.

The Constitution provides for checks and balances. One of these is that Congress can pass laws deciding what the appelate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court is.

If they prevent the SC from hearing cases about the pledge, the Supreme Court cannot legislate that the words "under God" have to be removed from the pledge.

This is a bold move on the part of the legislators, and I welcome it. I hope there are more acts like this that limit the power of "judges gone wild".

While I agree that the judiciary has recently been abusing its power, it's not the only branch of gov't to 'go wild', as you put it. The Constitution also specifically enumerated the powers of the legislative branch, yet Congress has expanded its power nonetheless, well beyond the limits of the Constitution, IMHO. It's more like "gov't gone wild", and voters are failing to reign it in.

That's just pure bull sh!t. The judges are itching to alter the pledge of allegiance and to grant homosexual marraige and will use any means necessary to force their ideology on the people." Don't try to tell me they play by rules.

to some people it's

Is the judicial review interpretation based on the Constitution, or some other law? If it is based on the Constitution, then this stops nothing.

The Bush admin can withdraw from treaties from the Cold War era because the Cold War and the Soviet Union no longer exist. Well then, let's continue with that rational! Restoring the pledge back to it's original form would remove the part added during the Cold War in an attempt to distinguish ourselves from the commies.

The religious right is ruining the sanctity of the Constitution.
