I've had one for almost a year and while the quality isn't the best, it makes a boring day at work a little more interesting.

Not just for tivo. If you have a set top box of any kind, orb is pretty much useless. Sling controls tivo, cable box, sat box, whatever device you use for video. Think of it as a standalone pc with a video encoder card and ir blaster which streams over the network. Yes you can build a pc and install orb which is "free". But the hassle factor is huge. This thing sits under my armoire and just does its thing.
