I was running 55C with a igloo silent breeze on a athlon xp 1700+ @ 1560mhz. After I moved from my dorm room to my bed room, my CPU temps went up to 63C, but the computer was still stable. I'm not worried as long as the computer is stable, but I do plan on getting better case fans to fix this problem.

Whats the hottest you've run a CPU and still have it be 100% stable?

Depends on what motherboard you have, if your reading from the internal diode temps are going to look high but they are actually correct. I think the T-Breds can get up to 75c or 80c before they can no longer function. If your not reading from the internal Diode you should get a better heatsin/fan combo for sure, as your pushing the limits big time.

its the internal diode, and its a palomino (!)

its mainly b/c i have a wimpy exhaust; its only 18CFM. I didn't think it would have that much of an impact, but I guess it did. I'll be replacing it soon hopefully.

also, the hsf is meant to be quiet; it only spins aroudn 2250RPM of a 70mm fan.

I wouldn't worry about really. I'm sure it will last longer than you're probably going to use it, aye? ;)
