Hotter than&%$#!! SBC DSL $19.95/mo

:thumbsup:Starting Monday 11/01, SBC customers who get new DSL can get it for only $19.95/mo for a full year! Only 1 catch - you have to have or order the "All Distance" long distance package.

Don't have any idea what the "all distance" package is, but just remember, you're still getting what you pay for. DSL is pure CRAP, especially through SBC. My wife (before we got married) had SBC DSL, and I had RoadRunner. My connect blazed, and hers didn't even work half the time. SBC wouldn't give credit for the days it didn't work. Roadrunner gave credit for MORE days that it didn't work, just because of the inconvenience. SBC customer service is really crappy, just like the DSL service.

Again, no offense, but someone had to say it! 😉

SBC is garbage on PPPoE but u can get SBC DSL thru sonic.net for only $21.95. there one of dslreports' highest ratied ISPs. also 1 yr contract but no SBC long distance crap

Sorry to hear about your experiences w/SBC. OTOH, we got SBC DSL after going through a nightmare with AT&T, and we have had no problems with it. One minigating factor though--our city has fiber to the curb, so the infrastructure might have something to do with it.

All Distance costs $53.95 a month (plus all the other charges that they do not quote but you pay them anyway).

Advice: take cable e.g. RoadRunner and drop your landline.

All Distance will cost you $50.00 + and you have to sign a one-year contract, making this deal stone cold.

Qwest Dsl rocks, 1.5 Mbps/896Kbps. only 44.95 a month. I have been a qwest dsl customer for over 3 years now and have never had connection or customer service issues. Only problem is they use unfriendly Actiontec brand modem. I recommend buying your own modem.

Plus current deal:

Order online by Oct. 31 and get a $25 Visa® Gift Card from the ISP(MSN🙁) .
Save 30% on your first 3 months of service, starting at $26.99/month.
Save $89 on activation. Order by Jan. 8 and pay $9.99.

I used qwest for the last 2 years and they were great. I belive the only problems were caused by me living in BFE, and not a qwest issue. Once I found out that they were upgrading speeds for free, I called and got bumped from 640/256, to 1.5/1.0. YES, 1.0 up. It was awesome. Then we moved. 🙁

my sbc dsl rules 6mbit down 684 up. never had a single problem, pppoe no problem with router.

have dsl for over 5 years and never had a single problem here in bay area.

That is simply not true. I have sbc dsl and love it. I use to have a insight cable modem and i switched to sbc dsl because of the way cheaper price (26.95 compared to 44.95). Most of the time i can't even notice the difference. My dowloads from IE are usually about 150 KB/s. Now with insight they were over 400KB/s but unless i am downloading a huge file i can't tell the difference.

I have had nothing but good experiences with SBC DSL, I am on the 1.5-6.0mbps down / 600k up for $45/month, but maybe things are going well because I live in a newer area that has a RTO built. My parents live an an older area in town and have had connection problems with their SBC DSL. I have hooked up 50-60 people/businesses on SBC DSL with only 2 problems both in older areas, which just might be the phone lines in those areas.

My SBC DSL works great in Sac, CA. I haven't have a down day for more than a year. Whereas, my parents on Comcast had several down times. Everytime, it took a week or more for them to restore the service.

can't wait for fiber-to-the-curb. verizon already got it in some places and its 15Mbps or 10x faster than DSL for only $50. that's friggin' insane

I've had SBC DSL for 3 years and its been almost perfect with no problems! Like any DSL provider I guess some people might have problems. You can't go wrong with SBC and I think they are better than most. I got on the 6000/608 plan for $44.95/Month when they were offering it earlier this year so I can't complain.
