Great price on this Todd Rundgren ... I mean Meatloaf CD .
Sorry, Todd was only the arranger, engineer, mixer, producer, played guitar, keyboards, percussion, and vocals and his side project group Utopia played bass, drums, and other keyboards.
One of the top 5 selling albums ever.. nice job Todd ..oops I mean Meat...
Percboy:
Great flash on the Runt. He's always ahead of others in his way of thinking. Wasn't some of the E Street band on the Meatloaf CD also or were they part of his Utopia project, (Roy Bittan, Max Weinberg)?
esquared,
Todd`s had a thing or two with shaping the direction of "rock" music. The fact he`s not in the Rock hall of fame in Cleveland shows how much of a political "sham" it really is.
Max Weinberg played on the Meatloaf album, not sure which tracks. It`s been a while since I`ve heard this CD. I usually can pick out Willie`s drumming.
Not my favorite Todd drummer (that`d be Prairie),
but Willie did help write and produce one of the best Utopia Cds , POV
THis is easily one of the best albums ever, IMHO. Meat Loaf, for his physical shortcomings, can belt out a song like no other. 🙂 I'm going to BB to pick up a copy. At this price, you youngins out there should pick one up. 😀
I need this on cd also. This is one that I havn't grown tired of all these years. Thanks for the post. I also have been a todd rundgren fan for years also, even before meatloaf came on the scene.
And even then you can't really give the credit to Rungren, as much as Steinman. Wonderfully inspired writing. Of course, this piece was an example of incredible skill and talent from every person involved, from writer to singers to musicians to producer.
okay, I think title needs a little more info now. how about saying it's a CD at least? I thought it was stouffer's meatloaf, and for $6 it wouldn't have been that hot. how about "hotter than a bat out of hell! meatloaf CD for $6"? not too much, but a little less ambiguous for the hungry college students up late at night browsing through this forum. just a suggestion.
