Buy the Viewsonic VA 800 at your favorite cheap computer retailer using your Amex Blue card. I got mine at bestbuy for $849.
Compusa has it in stock at their stores Buy VA 800.
This comes with a $100 manufacturer's rebate (extended to 12/31). After you receive it PM it to this site VA 800 and get $250 back. That's it.

VA 800 : $849 (+tx)
Viewsonic $100 MIR (11/01 - 12/31): $100
PM/BLUE @ Amazon.com : $250
______________
$499

VA 800 Specs:

System Compatibility: Apple® Macintosh?
Windows®
Display Type: Active Matrix LCD (TFT)
Resolution: 1280 x 1024 (SXGA)
Viewable Size: 17.4 in
Connectors: Video - 15 pin High-Density D-shell (VGA)
Contrast Ratio: 400 :1
Mounting: Desktop
Interface: Analog
Height: 18.1 in
Width: 18.1 in
Depth: 9.4 in
Weight: 18.7 lbs

P.S: Amex Blue will NOT make a big deal about it being out of stock at Amazon. I know because I have the $250 check in my hand right now. Cheers

Huzefa .

THIS DEAL IS NOT AT AMAZON. YOU GOTTA BUY IT ELSEWHERE AND PRICE MATCH IT TO AMAZON'S WEBSITE.

<< Because this monitor was never available on Amazon's website. It is an obvious error on Amazon's website. The page states that V-Tech is the manufacturer instead of Viewsonic and the weight is 1lbs. If you do decide to do the AMEX PM I would recommend that you not open the monitor until you have your AMEX BVG check in hand! As with all AMEX BVG claims YMVG! >>

That's somebody else's words, but they are true. It never was available on Amazon's website, and the cheapest price you can get it for anywhere else is $849.

Like Vett9898 said, this is a 17.4" LCD and NOT a 18" LCD.

Also, I think depending on your luck, the AMEX blue folks are brighter then you think (speaking from experience)

25ms or 50ms lag? Considering it's analog, I would assume 50ms which may result in ghosting in games/movies. <sigh>

I really want a nice big, inexpensive, high-quality LCD too for (also to be used with DVDs)...when is Dell going to do another 20% off home/home office?! I want a 17.4" planar! :Q

Great, another fraudulent hot deal thread.

Any wagers on when AMEX will dismantle their BVG program due to excessive losses? Or at least exclude any computer or technology-related items.

There seems to be some confusion on the size.

After reading a couple of different sites, it IS an 18 inch monitor (18.1 to be exact) with a 17.4 inch viewing area, so they're both correct.

>>>Great, another fraudulent hot deal thread.<<<

I wasn't going to be the first one to say so this time :) ...but yes, it is fraudulent. We know Amazon isn't selling any at this price, we know it's a misprice, we know Amazon doesn't have it in stock, and is not likely to sell them at that price at any time in the near future (until prices REALLY go down to this level). But some people will [ab]use this and screw AMEX anyway. What's wrong with this picture? And aren't there enough legitimate ways to get a GOOD deal?

At the rate things are going, I think we'd be fortunate if BVG is still around in 6 months. That means next year and every year thereafter, most likely, no $1,000 in pricematches through AMEX...for any of us. Stupid people.

Too complicated. This is more streamlined and just as ethical...

1. Walk into CompUSA
2. Pick up monitor.
3. Run out of store with monitor.

Cheaper this way too.

This isn't sold by Amazon is it? It's part of Amazon Marketplace so it's a third-party seller.

That seems to be the case. And that means it MAY be a used monitor as well.

Also, the description states "1.0 pounds" so we also know that the description, price and item do not match.
