Hotter deal on the Sony Wega 36 inch TV

If you picked up a raincheck from Fry's for their 36" Sony Wega (Vega) KV-36FS12 at Fry's Electronics during their special last week/early this week, you can make the deal even hotter by pricematching at Sears using a Sears credit card this weekend.

1) Using your raincheck, go to Sears and pricematch the TV. You may have trouble here pricematching a raincheck. The Fry's stores in my area were out of stock, but the raincheck entitles me to that price whenever it comes in stock.
2) Use your existing Sears card, or sign-up for a new one to get the extra 10%. You even get 3 months of interest free credit!

Final Price: $899.10 + your state's sales tax
($973.28 in TX)

Notes:

Rainchecks are here: www.dealdatabase.com/rainchecks.html

I'm not sure if it's only the Sears at StoneBriar Mall in Frisco, TX, or if it's at all Sears stores nationwide having the 10% off your purchase this weekend (it started Thursday) if you use a Sears Credit Card.

I know the raincheck shows that it expired Tuesday, but I asked a sales associate at Fry's before leaving the store and he told me that it just means that the ad expired (as shown also under line item 1). It's still authorizes me to purchase the TV at $999 at Fry's whenever it becomes available. Some rainchecks show that it doesn't expire until the product is purchased (displayed right under the word RAINCHECK), but mine doesn't say that.

I'm not able to take advantage of this deal, but a friend of mine just picked up 2 of them!
Let me know how it goes folks. I won't have time to keep up with this thread all that much, but enjoy.

Original credit for the deal at $999 price goes to RipperX2k. Thanks.

I think Sears handles this policy differently at each store. On a large basis, Sears does price match other retailers -- including Internet retailers. However, when I tried to do a similar deal with Sears a few months back, I was not allowed the additional 10% discount, but was restricted to the price-match only.

that's wild dude... I live about 2 min from Stonebriar Mall! Too bad I don't even have room for that Wega right now, because it's super tempting.

Cheers :D

I sent the files out to DealDatabase. They should be posted up soon.
Check here for them, I guess. Busy day for me. Happy deal hunting!

Will Sears really pricematch that raincheck posted above, even though it is not the original and it states that the Ad expired the 6th. And if they don't price match, can we still use this raincheck to pick up one at Fry's when they come back in stock?

Wonder if Fry's will let you use this raincheck at a location outside of Texas. Like, say... Southern California. Prolly not, right?

I sure wish we had a Fry's in Houston. We do have a Fry's Grill & Bar but when I called they said they didn't sell Wega's.

I suggest you take a trip to your local fry's and check it out. BTW which fry's are you referring to(city)? I would think that sears would be more willing to do a pricematch even if its in Texas. A good reason is that you moved out of town.

Speaking of Fry's in Houston, when is that one supposed to open up? ;) Awesome deal on a Wega though. :)

Did anyone else successfully execute this. Again, prior to posting, my friend purchased two of them. I don't even think they had both in stock, but by the delivery date, I think they would have two in inventory.

Not sure if it would work in South California. I don't think Fry's will accep a printed version of the scan. Their salespeople may be trained to figure out if it's real. It was a laser printout, afterall.

If you use the raincheck at Fry's, not to pricematch, but accept the raincheck, I think they would keep track of the Quote # and allow only one pricematch per Quote # (although when I asked for two different copies, one for me, one for my fiancee, they gave me 2 printouts of the same quote).

You can't use this to pricematch at another Fry's however. You need to have picked up your own raincheck at the time of the sale. I'm quite sure that the salesperson would also look at the store number, which is why I drove to the Dallas store, closer to home, rather than the Arlington store, closer to work.

I can view the rain check but can't print it. I have a Compaq IJ600 printer. Can anybody print the rain check out?

DealDatabase I had problems D/Ling in Netscape (I could only see code), but IE works great. Thanks.
Yabyabdoo I had no problems printing on an HP 930.
Has anyone tried the Sears/Fry's PM yet?

I just got a new computer now. On this one I do not have photo shop. How do I view and print out the rain check?
