They only have one internal listed, it's Que Que IDE DVD-R/RW

also, the qps rebates link QPS Rebates shows both internal and external as a $50 rebate (btw, they are pretty good about rebates)

Now, if any of you want to do the rest of the research about the drive manufacturers based upon that info, I'd say that this one is probably it ($399 -$IR -$MIR - $50MMIR= $249), but only time will truly tell.

Hmmm..... It's been 5 months since I did the Compusa $50 rebate QPS/QUE deal on a CDRW. I coincidentally called earlier today and they said that they just sent it out. I was about ready to throttle someone if they gave me the same ole "the manufacturer has extended...."

Anyway, obviously I'm a little gun shy of their rebates.

Sounds like a good deal though.

Quantum Drives are usually rated better.

Yes Quantum Drives rock! I bought last weeks Maxtor / Quantum drive deal only because people were saying there was a Quantum drive in the box. Personally I would have passed if it were a Maxtor in the box.

For those of you that have the"itch" for the QUE! DVD-R/RAM drive, it is manufactured by Matsushita aka Panasonic. The drive is OK but there are newer generation DVD-R drives that are better for the pre-rebate price. However, for $249 AR and tax it will probably suit most home users' needs. Be prepared to "pay" the full price drive as QUE! rebates processed by New Rochelle are the absolute worst to get paid. They still have not closed and paid many of the QUE! rebate promos offered at CompUSA last September - November!

Yes and no. I am able to rip some 1 to 1 copies. Others I have to strip the menus and others I have to strips the menus and re encode the movies. I use a Pioneer A03, the best IMHO.

I still have not been paid my QUE rebates from September....Had to call Compusa to try to resolve, they said mailed this week. Well we see....My QUE CD/RW works fine....Just Beware to not get rebate anytime Soon!!!

You know, I didn't think I had ever gotten my $50 rebate for the 24x burner that I got from CrapUSA last year and I've already gotten my rebate on the TDK drive from CC.
