Some sweet ram for an awesome price at ZZF, thinking about adding another gig of this stuff to my comp. I have it running on 2-3-2-5!

The only thing thats keeping me from pulling the trigger is that on the rebate form it says the purchase should be made starting on 1/23, but the site is already advertising $82 AR. Anyone know whats going on?

Umm, today is 2/13/2006. Rebate is valid from 1/23/2006 through 3/31/2006. I'm afraid I don't understand your hesitation.
 
Agreed... this is a decent deal by the way as it includes free 2 day FedEx delivery. I just picked up some myself.

Hmm. My guess was wrong. 😛
According to xtermesytems link it is:
HyperX PC 3200AK2 (2-3-2-6-1T) (KHX 3200AK2) --chip--> Winbond CH-5

How could it go well with 165 Opteron system? I'm thinking about building a new system and would it be a good candidate? Price is so tempting though.

i grabbed this ram a few months back at the same price. it had an aditional $10 off rebate that i never filed at the time but it is still hott, this ram is great. might add another gig for this price.

I got a 1gig kit, but now i'm getting another...just so it matches...

i guess i should overclock my opteron 165 along with these ram...but i'm scared of burning both out...since i'm a noob with overclockin

seems so hard to do!
 
you dont want 4x 512mb in your mobo. You would be forced to run ddr333 and 2t.

if you want 2gig you have to go 2x 1gb.
 
I have a gig of this exact memory for my machine. Bought it in Janurary of last year, and it works great!(it was about 130 AR from Frys a year ago, normally around 150)
