HotOrNot: Anyone ever tried this?

Seems like their meet me service is a decent way of making some new friends.... and my friend met his wife on there. Odd eh? Anyone tried it?

Edit: typo

It costs money, so no. But it does seem like a good idea... as in one party pays and the other doesn't have to. So the guys pay and the girls are really there.

i can't imagine that many people looking at hotornot as a way to meet people, unless they just want to hook up for sex.

I put my profile on active just to see what happens. Once in awhile I'll get a meet request but 95% of the time it's an overweight ugly girl. 🙁

My friends and I had a competition to see who could get the highest score.... I blamed my lower score on bad lighting 😛.

I don't really take the dating aspect of it seriously though.

I'm getting the total opposite.... I got like 20 matches and most are attractive.

Got a 7.8 so far...
Hahah... I dunno, I consider myself good enough looking and I have a 7.8 and an 8 on there. What a crock.

My cousin posed a picture of my (late) grandpa from his Navy days. He scored 9.2 and had four people want to contact him within a month. Even in death, my grandpa drew in the chicks.

Funny that you mentioned this but I just tried this out for the first time this weekend. I've known about this site for a long time though because I read an article about it years ago.

The kicker is that I'm way hotter than I thought I was! Honestly, I'm such a loser with chicks that I thought that I would score low but I'm actually doing pretty well. I've gotten an indicator of interest from one girl already but she lives a thousand miles away from me which is too bad.

What's your score?

Not anymore. I don't really know why it changed... I assume they're trying to be like Myspace with the inclusion of Super Profiles. I think this change is good, because honestly... HotOrNot was a lame excuse for a dating site and not nearly as good as MySpace in its current form. It needed to remove that payment model.

i don't think the original idea behind hotornot was a dating site. i think it was just a place for vain people to see how hot they are.

the site's not very accurate though because even the ugliset of the ugly get pretty decent scores.

It was, yes, but then they added "Meet Me @ HotOrNot". Extremely ugly wimmenz usually get what's called a "sympathy" score or at times, the range may be 1 to 10, but people tend to have their own lower bounds (say the lowest someone will go is 3).

Bingo. The problem is, sometimes someone is so ugly, I feel bad voting a 1 or 2 for them because hasn't God screwed them over enough already?

On the other hand, a bunch of bitches cast a 1 vote for me. They deserve to get herpes.

But they are putting themselves on hot or not.

Plus, I find that people who are physically unattractive to the naked eye can do a LOT to make themselves look better if they really want to (or they can just get to know other people who don't mind that stuff, which usually works out better anyway!)
