Hi guys,

You know, I always wondered why i've been getting so much more junk mail these days. Then I got this forward:
Did you know that about 2 months ago MSN added 2 little boxes in all the profiles? These boxes if marked share your email with other users. One box, if ticked, gives other people the right to see your information including your address.
Now MSN has taken all the passports that were created before they added this and marked YES SHARE MY INFORMATION and did not tell anyone. (!!!!)

HOW to remove your name: sign into your email account (for those with more then 1 you have to do it for all of them),
Click on Options (¿ï¶µ) then Personal Profile (­Ó¤H°ò¥»¸ê®&AElig😉and scroll to the bottem ...
u will see the TWO added boxes - remove the check marks and finish up.

PLZ FWD this to everyone who has hotmail - lets not wait until it is too late (this may decrease all that junk mail that seems to have doubled lately). CHECK it out. It's true."


btw, i did a search for hotmail, and this thread looks to be of the same thing, but the link is dead.
 
just checked my hotmail mail account for verification (this is my spam account by the way that I give out on online surveys and the like) and I must say, that's pretty annoying 🙂 Go figure. No wonder i have 85 spams in my mailbox right now 😛 Nice find!
 
I'd love to be able to check, but everytime I click on the Personal Profile button, I get a .Net Passport Wizard that hangs on me. Friggin integrated sh!te.
 
You mean you guys didn't know yet, and would have liked to have known that sooner? 🙂
Ah well, maybe I'll tell you next time.

Btw, they messed around with the spam filters again or sold email adresses again, I shot up from 1-3 spam mails a day to 19 in the past few days 🙁
 
Ugh more reason to hate Hotmail as if I needed any.:frown:

Anyone know of a good web based email service? I've been getting some excessive amounts of spam on my hotmail account (and it won't go away at this point) and I'd like to get a new "disposable" email address
 
u mean to tell me that u didnt know about his feature, Spanky? What cave did u crawl out of? 😉 Not only that, I listed some foreign country as my place of residence. Anywhere except the USA, so lesser junk mail would arrive

I can't get my Pop mail there anymore, unless I want to pay 19.95$ a year.........NOT!
Opened up a yahoo account to get my mail yesterday.

Hotmail is my spam account anyways... I only use it to sign up for stuff etc...

I am getting more than 50 spam mails everyday now...
 
This was posted in HD quite a while ago...it's good to bring it to OT though, more people will see it here.
