One of my accounts is 250, the other is 2. I think the one with 250 has had more "traffic" (spam)

Perhaps they're upgrading those with higher activity first?

I think I may have had mine since 1996. The only real reason I've stayed is that once MS bought Hotmail, they allowed download of mail through Outlook.

I've had my hotmail account since approx 1996, I'm still at 2mb. My hotmail account has long been assigned as my spam account, I probably haven't sent an email from it in a year which is probably why I'm still sittin' with 2mb of storage

I think everyone needs to be patient about this upgrade process.. no sense in Microsoft upgrading everyone all at once and doing what Yahoo did.

When yahoo did their upgrade, they did it across teh board and they had server outages for days. Microsoft is actually being smart here and rolling out upgrades slowly. I haven't experienced an outage like Yahoo's since Microsoft started the upgrade, so they are doign something right.

Everyone will eventually get their 250MB, so just be patient!

I dont use yahoo enough to notice an outtage for weeks. Its all just spam accounts for me. None of my hotmail accounts have been upgraded however. All still at 2mb

Microsoft being smart? Is that a first?

Microsoft is a multi-million if not multi-billion dollar company started from nothing, so I have a feeling that they did a couple of things right. But I'm sure that your accomplishments overshadow anything that Microsoft has done 😉

Yeah I work for SBC Yahoo, when they did the upgrade it was pretty nuts. Nice just telling people to try back later and not having to really troubleshoot for once though.

I have also had my account for a long time and mine is still at 2mb of storage. They must go by server or user name or something for the upgraged account.

Side note, gotta love google's nomination in the "Big Brother award": http://www.google-watch.org/bigbro.html

And to that I say: http://google-watch-watch.org/

Any link to google-watch.org is pretty worthless, since it's run by some angry guy with a chip on his shoulder, because his site didn't get a good Google PageRank.

BTW, all three Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail, can be set up to work through any pop3 mail client. Yes, Yahoo and gmail take more effort than hotmail/outlook to set up this way, but it IS possible.

so has anyone been upgraded recently? a good number of ppl i know are still stuck at a measely 2mb. i thought the transition would be slow, but this is just pathetic.

yep MS is being slow about this

Mine has been upgraded since shortly after the annoucement. The best thing about the upgrade is not the 248mb increase, it's the lack of the "use hotmail" spam attachment at the bottom of your emails.

Now only Yahoo would follow, so I don't get the "Do you Yahoo!?" spam when my friends mail me.
