Question Hotmail slow on Chrome only

I use ... Hotmail. You know, the thing they rebranded as Outlook - but the webpage, not the standalone app.
On Chrome. Which was always working fine. Then one day about 2 weeks ago for no reason outlook started to be very slow to open. Think 10 seconds to go from when i click the hyperlink to when i see my inbox. I get this stupid animation of a letter opening and it goes on for about idk, 5-10 seconds. This had never happened - generally i click the hyperlink and within 1-2 seconds at most i'm in my inbox.

Thing is .. this only happens in chrome. If i try to open hotmail/outlook in TOR, Brave, Edge, it opens right away as it did in the good ol' days of 14 days ago.

Was there a silent update pushed out on chrome? I'm pretty sure i did not authorize / install any. I'm on LTSC with everything turned off so only the most vital updates go through.

Version 90.0.4430.212 is the latest.for Chrome. Is that what you are using? Chrome updates automatically by default.

yup, that is the version.
I'm sure if it was a version-wide issue with hotmail, people would have reported it.

Works fine for me. Is it still slow in an incognito window? Might be one of your extensions.

you nailed it. Opens immediately in incognito.

Now, to figure out which extension is being redacted ...
