Hotmail checking through pop mail?

I know it can be done, but I can't find out where - what are the settings to get Hotmail checked in somethin like Outlook?

I have done this stunt before. Just create a new mail account in Outlook Express.

Go to Tools then Accounts.
Click the Add button.
Then Mail.
and for the email address use a @hotmail.com accout. Since Microsoft owns Hotmail, the two should work together just fine. Outlook would detech a hotmail account and set everything accordingly.

It is not exactly POP mail for it uses an HTML protocal. But since Outlook and Hotmail are from Microsoft, it interfaces easily without using the browser.

You do not need to. Outlook sets it up for you. Just use a hotmail email and Outlook does the rest.

Hmmm...I kind of doubt it, but would I be able to check email from my account at college in Outlook.
The program my school uses is called 'Simeon,' and it sucks IMO. Always causes my computer to crash.

Anyways, do you think it would be possible to do this?

However, in answer to your question, ask your network people what protocol your school mail servers use. If it's POP3, IMAP, or LotusMail (iirc), you can use Outlook for it, otherwise, you're out of luck.

you can have your yahoo mail in outlook or any other pop3 also. go to their site and look it up. it's easy and from today's experience (i only ran it today) it's fast.
