Hotel Rwanda looks AMAZING

I just saw an interview with Don Cheadle about this movie, and it looks absolutely amazing, it's been a loong time since I've looked forward to seeing a movie as I have this one..

This looks like a movie with a real cause about a real event, which I'm hoping will help put it above all the other Hollywood crap they're releasing nowdays.

Luckily, it seems like the 59 people who've seen it already at IMDB seem to think so as well.

Go ahead and check out the trailer..

Rwanda was an international disgrace. The world turned a blind eye and allowed massive genocide to occur with nary a peep.

Sadly the United States did nothing cause those poor people don't have oil.

All the other countries suck as well.

i don't think somalia has oil....

Yes, it does. Pretty large reserves of it actually.

Back on topic, yea, it really does look awesome. Don Cheadle is an awesome actor.

Anyone know of a good link that describes the whole Rwanda situation?

And I do think what really does make this story much more interesting to me at least, than say the Holocaust and Schindler's List, is that everyone knows about the Holocaust, and it happened so long ago that it's hard to really imagine what it was like at the times.

However since what happened in Rwanda was so very recent, and the fact that there are so many people out there that really don't know the whole situation, myself included..and I'm willing to bet there's a whole lot of people who don't even know what happened even, makes the situation that much more interesting.

Saw this last night... it was INCREDIBLE. One of the most compelling movies I've seen in a long, LONG time. I must have cried at least eight times, and I'm furious Clinton didn't step in to intervene... he did mention later that his lack of action was one of his biggest regrets while in office.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO EVERYONE. GO SEE IT. NOW!

is this movie out in the theaters now? or due out soon? i dont see it in any of the theaters around me (AMC and Regal)

I dont think it's America's job to step in and intervene everytime something goes wrong somewhere. The UN is there for that - you have all the right to be mad at the UN...but Clinton isnt the only one to blame.

The problem with that is that you can't just pick and choose who you help and who you don't depending on what's in it for you. That applies to both the UN and Clinton's administration at the time.
