HI
I am taking my family to Disney World next week.We will be taking 2 maybe 3 laptop computers with us. We will be staying in rooms bside each other Would it be possible to take a router and connect it to the hotel internet service jack and then connect the router to the other laptops???? I'd love to take a wi fi router for convenience. But if I have to we could put all the laptops in one room. The reason for this is 2 of the people going have to work and check e-mails there. And, internet service at the hotel is $10 a day. That would be $30 a day times 8 days. We are staying at a Disney resort hotel.
It would be great if we can do this . But if we can't at least I tried.
Thanks

You can bring your router if:

1) If the Hotel is using Wired and using DHCP to gain internet access. If it is on Static then they are willing to give you the IP Configuration to your laptop and transfer it to your router later.

2) If the Hotel is using Wireless and they give you the SSID & Network Key. Then you laptop should be set as Internet Sharing.

3) If the Hotel is using Wireless and they are the one who plug the USB for the security key setting or put it to your laptop. Then you laptop should be set as Internet Sharing.

Its useless to bring your router if:

1) If the Hotel is using Wired and using Static IP on all connection and they wont give it to you.

Why not just go to a Starbuck and bring your laptop?
