Thinking of replacing my main rig with this... What do you guys think?

Edit: Links fixed. My mistake as I did not realize they were referral links.

Thanks for fixing the links.

I'm trying to configure this and I'm not seeing the $550 off. You mention it's automatic but I don't appear to get it. Am I missing something?

I believe it might be the link to the 420 that's causing the issue.

when does it end? Im going to buy it today and the configured price of right under 1500 with shipping is right under the 1500 i have available with dell. Its been there for over a year untouched.

Question though. Can I ask for an increase as I was hoping to add some higher end speakers and KB+mouse combos. Also any reviews on this current system?

newb question: with the included Blue Ray ROM player that is included with this system could I play Blue Ray movies and output to my HD TV---sony bravia?

There isn't an HDMI output on this system I would suppose, so would you use a DVI to HDMI tongle or something?

Thanks

APC

Just got it for the OP's price of 895+tax! i just called XPS CS and told them that I had "placed" my order last night when it was still -$550 and it never went through...and now its only -$500...so wtf? throw in some jargon about canceling your order and you're in the clear!

the tax is about 50 to 100 bucks which in some cases still bring it at a decent price. 500 off + 10% + 4% = decent deal. The only issue I have is the psu is only 420 watts and what if I wanted to add an 8800gtx card to the frey? Will dell up the psu watts if I get the 8800gtx? 420 watts for a quad, 8800gtx, and 3gb ram plus more seems a bit on the bottleneck side.

I have this saved in my cart, mine will come around to $1000

I quickly tried similar configuration at Newegg better Power supply (700 watt)/4gb ram I am at $1600, I think if spent more time I may be able to bring the price down to $1400.

I may be going with the dell.

thanks for hotdeal
