They're supposed to be retail pkgs. I had the dude scan all the drives that were in the case and the only one that was "on sale" was a WD 30 gig from 169 to 139.
I was bummed:(

I just got back from the one in the Protrero Center in SF. Apparently they had some this weekend and I just missed getting one.

Nice! Just picked up two 30.7 ones for $19.88 each, after they couldn't find the $30 rebate anywhere! (49.88 - $30)
Thanks dude.

Just picked up one of the WD 45 gb drives. The SKU on mine was 462481. Anyone have the SKU for the Maxtor?

After waking up at 7 am and heading out in 6 degree weather, I managed to pick up 4 WD 30.7 gb hard drives for about $44 each, after the $10 off coupon. I'm still looking around for a $30 mail in rebate, since there's a sticker on each of the boxes saying there's $30 cash back. The drives are only 5400 rpm, but for $44, or potentially $14, they'd make a good second system HD or storage drive for mp3s. I also picked up a butt-load of Dvd's. 4 office depots and 4 hours later, i'm a happy camper.

The prices I verified moments ago at Fairfax, VA OD:

SKU......Model.....Price
328-481.......WD 17.2GB ATA-66 5400.........$99.88
633-791.......WD 20GB ATA-66 7200...........$119.99 ... sticker on box claimed to contain a ATA-100 drive
633-811.......WD 30GB ATA-66 7200...........$139.99 ... sam sticker claiming ATA-100
633-631.......WD 40GB ATA-66 7200...........$169.99 ... ATA-100 sticker

That's all the WD models I saw in the case. I wrote down the SKUs and had them checked them at the customer service desk.

I'd really like two of those $49.88 units tho. :(

Haha SUO. You're on the wrong side of DC!
Oh, and I don't have any SKU's. They're not on the receipt, just the UPC codes, which matter not if you call them up. !Lo siento!

Just picked two WD 30.7 G for $44 each. The SKU is 462491. There were also couple 45 G ones sitting behind the glass...I was too cheap and didn't wanna spend that much.

Dude, I just got the last one in Chula Vista, CA. There were supposed to be 3 drives in there but when I got there they said "Oh, two were open and defective and we only have one to sell" Liars!! I had some dude hold them for me earlier today. My mistake. Anyways, when I got home and opened the box, there was a 45 gig drive there instead.
I got 45 gigs for 43 dollars:)

I also got 45GB for $64 including tax. They still had some 20GB 5400rpm Maxtor drives which the label said $99 but were the same price as their 20GB 7200rpm drive. I had a feeling that they might be selling those cheap as well although I did not ask them to scan the price.

I got mine at OD on FootHill, Southern California.
