My hot water tank will be 10 year old this June, and it look like the bottom element has failed.
It took about 1-2 gallon of water out of the sediment faucet at the bottom of the tank before the water went clear (there was a bit of rust in the first gallon and the second gallon to clear the broken element insulation packing).
I'm not sure how long is left of the tank life before it completely corroded/leak?
Is it worth it to replace the tank?
