Your high school physics professor's comments about polarization aren't really accurate.
Polarized lenses are quite USEFUL, especially in situations where your field of vision is
filled with reflected light (e.g. when driving). The polarized filters help to cancel out any
polarized light sources, which include light that is reflected off other objects.

HOWEVER it is not these reflected light sources that pose the biggest risk to your eyes.
Removing polarized light just makes it easier to see. It is UV light that is (potentially)
an actual risk to your eyes. And basically any high quality lense can remove most/all UV.
The Vuarnet lenses, in particular, are very high quality sunglass lenses and do as
good a job as any you can buy at removing UV.

Yup, in fact I knew a laser expert that would that wished his friends get cataracts. Because just about everyone's going to get them from UV damage if you live to be old enough. And while he said sunglasses are a good idea, there's still lots of reflected UV that enters the eye from the sides of them.

I ordered. Vuarnet = very nice lenses. They USED to be really popular at least 10 years ago . . . still highly recommended and these are downright cheap. 🙂

You guys seem to know what your talking about so can anybody help me pick out a pair? Looking for something black that is stylish but covers my eyes completely, so that no sun comes in. My big problem with sun glasses is that the top part of the frams stick out and let sun down on the top of my eyes or they dont cover the sides. Any recommendations?

No. 85019, No. 85018, No. 85030, No. 85016, No. 86533, No. 85033 might be what you want, except for the colours 😛 i bought the No. 85019 model coz i'm out on the river 6 days a week.. 🙂

I have 3 different styles. # 2437 #3437 #6044
#6044 seems to out of stock now but they have the Unilynx lenses which are a brownish color. They seem to enhance contrast.
#2437 has the PX2000 lenses and seems similar to the Unilynx.
#3437 has the PX3000 lenses and these are a gray lens which is very neutral. All colors that you see appear unchanged. This lens IMO is the best general all around lens.
All 3 of these styles are metal frames and very nice.

Best pair for driving: 7219. Amber lenses, polarized. Nice wire frame frames, nice
rounded lenses.

Best pairs for skiing: Any of the models ending in "31". These are the google-like
"welding" style glasses. Kind of odd looking for streetware, though some think
they're cool. Available in both polarized and non-polarized models. I like polarized
lenses, but some skiiers prefer the non-polarized versions because polarized
lenses can make it hard to see ice patches on the snow. Also available with the
ultra dark PX5000 lenses.

Best pairs for those who need lenses that cover both ahead and peripheral
areas, plus decent styling: Probably those ending in "56" or "58".

Ordered the #3020's to replace my 9+ yr old Raybans 🙂

Shiat happens when you have a rock hit the lens at 90 or so MPH on my bike 🙂

Thanks for the deal.

Just got mine in today. They seem to be very high quality glasses, I'm really impressed with them for the price. Definitely better than the $6 Foakleys I've been using that I got off NYC streets 🙂

Hi Antmanbee:

___Thanks for the links!

___I currently own a pair of Oakley Jacket 2.0?s (Eye Jacket Mtl Black) and have never really grown fond of their styling nor fit. I had a pair of Vuarnet 4002 Cateye?s for ~ 15 years (skiing mostly) before I lost them in a tank ~ 1 yr. ago. Hell with style, they worked fabulously for skiing (no sun or wind to the eyes as well as being comfortable for glass lenses) and were great for long trips when it wasn?t your turn to drive but time to sleep. Anyway, I got the kids and wife together and ordered a pair of Vuarnet PX3000 #3024?s (my wife wanted these for whatever reason?), Vuarnet 4002 Cateye Sunglasses for myself for all the reasons listed above, Vuarnet PX3000 #3456.17?s for my own normal use because they look stylish, Uvex Aircut?s for my 10 yr. old as he liked them, and Vuarnet PX3000 #3455.14 as my 20 yr. old?s choice. If I could only take these Oakley?s back ? I could have easily paid for the entire families selection listed above and more for what I paid for the Oakley?s alone 🙁

___Good Luck

wow, good deal. I have a pair of Oakley a-wires which I love, but I still think I might pick up some of these. 3455.14 and 3456.14 in particular... 3456.14 look a lot like my a-wires. I might get some of the 31s for skiing too 😎

The only problem is, I am very picky about how glasses look on my face. Some look good, and some simply don't, even if they're very similar to ones that do look good. So it's a bit of a risk for me to order sunglasses from the internet, without being able to try them on. I'll definitely tell my roommate about this though, he was wanting some new sunglasses and he loves campmor 🙂

Hot deal! I just ordered a pair myself. Turns out the store is about 15mn from in NJ. When I told my fiance where they were, she said, Oh yeah, I have been there a bunch of times. Place is legit for sure!

This IS a good deal.

I got my shades and a couple watches VERY nice. All new and genuine stuff. Great deal, njoy!

The Cateye style are the ultimate for snow skiing and watersports, although they're really out of style now.

Paying 100+ for Oakleys is absurd...

Yup, remember those days in the 80s when you had to have your vuarnets, Quicksilver, Maui and Son, and other wanna be surfer gears. Back in my high schools days, most of these "surfers" can't even swim! 😀

This is simply a great deal.

I bought three pairs about a week ago, and I just added many more (9) in a second order the other night (I'm willing to stock up at these prices)

Both shipments came within 48 hours of my order, and everything was just as advertised - Campmor is definitely delivering the goods here!

I have had Vuarnets since high school (mid 80's). I've used them skiing, biking, life guarding, driving, and just around. I haven't yet found better sunglasses for me.

Simply a great deal.
