Not true. I had a 900Mhz VTech phone back in college that still works well today. Very comfortable, good reception, good range.

Oh. YOU got the ONE that worked!

Higher end vtech phones are really good...go into any consumer electronics store and ask what you should get and most will recommend vtech. All my phones have been vtech and they have been pretty good, except for the elcheapo crappy one my parents bought. But besides vtech, the only good brands are uniden and motorola...everything else pretty much sucks.

Panasonic phones are the best.
Thats what we thought too. We've taken one back and this one will go back also. It makes you sound like you are in a cave so we'll have to try a different model.

I have the V-TECH 66-9122 and I paid 10 AR about three years ago. It sucks because everytime the power goes out, you have to unplug it and take out the batteryand wait 30 seconds to reset it....... On the other hand, I have two Panasonics (paid $60 for one w/ans mach. and $30 for the other) that have worked great for about 4 years and the only thing I've had to do for them is change out the battery pack.

Does it have a MUTE button? Necessary for those conference calls that go on too long and you had too much coffee!

got this one for free and a panasonic headset when I bought my 5.8Ghz Panasonic last week at office max though.

havent used the phone yet. though all v-techs I have used feel cheap and dont last too long. Couldnt even give this to my sister who is in college for her dorm phone 😛

agreed. I had (actually still have but not using) one of those colored ones (green) and it worked fine. This one works just as well. Perfect for the kids in the family.

Actually, my $10AR Vtech 900mhz phone is still running strong 1 year. It's just that when the battery runs out, you gotta put the phone on the base, unplug AC adapter and plug back in. It's fine if battery doesn't run out, but it it does that is the procedure for getting it to recharge. Otherwise if you put the phone on the base, the recharge light just keeps blinking.
