i don't think BB realizes that UT2k4 is an anticipated game like Madden 2004 or whatever. Normally they'll put the newest hyped games on the shelves near the isles, but UT2k4 (non se) was on the very bottom shelf in the middle of nowhere at my store.
Well lucky me, I just picked up a copy at my BB (Aurora, IL). They had 3 left on the endcap. Now I have to find something to use this 10% coupon on

.Thanks to this thread I checked my local BB this afternoon and found 9 of them at the Arrowhead store in the Phx area. Since two of my friends asked me to pick one up for each I got 3.
Awesome game but the stutter on some servers can be bad. Even the old demo map of ONS ran really bad. I feel a patch on the way. BTW, the server I was on was one of the Atari/Epic servers.
One note, read the instructions before putting on the headset. It goes behind the head, not on top. I got a little annoyed and wondered if it's made flexible to be bent. Fortunately, before I tried I read the instructions.

Ran over to my local BB after work to pick up BF:Nam and UT2k4. Got to the store, and neither game was on the shelf. Asked an employee, "Do you guys have Battlefield Vietnam?" He says, "Sorry, all that we have is the regular version in the back. The SE is sold out."

Their ad sez no rainchecks... but it also lists a Thursday release. If they're all out at the store when I go when it opens tommorrow do you think you could argue for a raincheck? This is assuming I'm the first one in there Thursday morning.

Got the same email on my order. What a bunch of asswipes. Can't even handle their inventory and order processing. Guess I'll have to pay a visit to my B&M BB. Bunch of asswipes, I knew they would pull this crap.

I got the same friggin emale. I will be going over to the BB b&m tomorrow. They better have it in stock and they better give me a raincheck if they don't. At least this way I can use the gamer discount card although I was so hoping the SE would just show up on my doorstep.
Anyone want to sell me an unopened SE DVD copy for $40 including shipping, via verified, no CC paypal? I live too far away from BB to make the trip, and would like to get a copy....

weird that even tho i rec'd that same email (and i ordered early am sunday when the ad hit), when tracking my order on bestbuy.com still shows "in processing" and "backordered".
got the same email. gonna wake up early in thhe morning, tormora and drive over to my local bestbuy. hoepulfllully they ha veit.
Everyone's order still says that for some reason. Asshats better not ship me a copy now that I already bought it at B&M.

Hmm... well main reason I got the SE was well for the DVD. 6 CDs? That's a lot of CDs to swap in the installation process!

Just got back from the 86th and Lex BB in NYC when they opened --- they weren't kidding about the 10 copies per store.
One other guy was there too for UT2004. They hadn't brought it out yet, so we asked the person on duty and she went in back and brought out the copies. Looked like 10 SEs and a bunch of regular editions.
I went for the SE because of the DVD and the headset. 7 CDs is a lot and voice chat makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I guess if anyone loses out on getting a SE for 24.99 at BB...I got mines at Frys in Fountain Valley, CA yesterday...they had cartfulls of SE versions..but its 29.99
really, what time did you go? I went at like 6:00 pm and they didn't have any. Should have I asked for someone to see if they have any in the back?
went yesterday at like 12 noon...there were like 2 carts full of the SEs....wow..dont tell me they were all sold out by then?...they also has a lot of regular editions..seems like many are having problems getting the SE at BB. Just an FYI...
Note about the SE vs. the other:
The headset in the SE is not very comfortable. The headset that comes with my cordless phone is more comfortable and works just fine, however, it does need a wire extension and adaptor. As for the 2 DVD set, the 2nd DVD is pretty much useless unless you plan to devote many hours of your time creating your own map, vehicles, weapons, characters, etc. Yah, the many CD's is a pain, but you only need to install once. Really, it's about the game. Screw the SE, unless you like an uncomfortable, inferior headset.
That's just my 2¢ worth.

There are 4 SE versions left in the Hialeah, FL BestBuy. I had to drive from Pembroke Pines all the way down there because the sales associates put the SE versions out on the Pembroke Pines Best Buy floor late last night.
Jsut picked mine up..SWEET!!! There was a line outside the store. Not one left on the shelf here in SLC
