Wow when I first pre-ordered it, it was $39.99 at BB online. Sweet. Now I'll get it shipped 2nd day for $36.

Interesting, both are selling for $29.99? Too bad you can't pre-order the DVD version, cause it's probably a price mistake (right?).

Yes, dvd version is same price at places like EB, so why not here too?

Things that make this deal hotter:
$5 off $19.99 gamers coupon inside the black (NOT green) gamers giftcard. Put $5 on the gift card and use it to buy
the game (might have to do separate purchases) and use the coupon as well.
Also for those who have UT2003, there's a $10 off rebate in the box. That would be a total of $25 or $15. Not quite as hot as EB with $40 preorder minus $20 giftcard and $10 rebate, but pretty close.

Anyone know if Circuit City will have teh Special Edition? It would be nice to pick it up tomorrow and pricematch BestBuy later in the week.

First I've heard of it, too. I was planning on using a gift card I received when I returned something w/o a receipt.

I'm actually pretty excited about this release. I hope the headset is decent. The dvd with the info about designing new maps sounds interesting.

I wonder if I call Fry's if they would tell me how many they will have on hand. I'm glad to hear Frys is jumping the gun on BB; that way the real hard core guys will get theirs out of the way leaving a clear path for the laid back BB customers. Also they will probably post some comments on forums Wednesday night while they take a break and let the feeling go back into their fingers. :D

yeah, i got a $40 GC from BB for purchasing a printer a while back. i was sorta thinking about buying the $40 special edition from EB only cuz it's got the cool car emblem.... but i figure i'll get it off egay for a few bucks :p

if someone could post a link to the gamer's card, that'd be great.

its a gift certificate, but in a card, and its incased inside a jewlcase like a cd. you can find them at most registers at best buys or in the game section of the store. When you find it, look to see if it has the $5 off coupon for games in it.

you just buy the gift card, and pay at least $1 into it, then go get your game and use what ever you spent on the gift card, plus the $5 instant coupon inside, and only pay $24.99+taxs.then use the $10 rebate in the game to bring it down to $14.99, and if you're real smart, youll have used your best buy vip card to get points and get even more $$$ back ;)

The gamer's card is a gift card you can purchase that includes a $5 off coupon good for any regularly priced game $19.95 or higher. They are usually located in the video game section. A common tactic is to purchase the card for 1 cent or for the ammount of your purchase - 5 dollars + tax. You need to be careful though as most of the coupons expired 12/31/03, but some new ones are circulating that expire 12/31/04.

ITs not JUST a car embelem u know...
Reg version is 6 CDs .... SE is 1 DVD
also get a free logitech communicator .... which isnt all that cool but for free why not
