This is the slickest and also the cheapest bluetooth i can find any where. I don;t see any reason why not try it, specially if you are looking for bluetooth.

from the link
Maximum data rate: 1 MB

That is the standard data rate for Bluetooth 2 (1MB), but in real life you will get around 768kbs.

This isn't bad from Newegg:

Um...the OP linked to one that was BT 1.2 compliant, the newegg one seems to be only 1.1. If you plan on using Wifi or a 2.4GHz phone around this I strongly suggest you use 1.2, since they've added features to 1.2 to circumvent interference from other 2.4GHz devices.

The NewEgg one is USB 1.1. The device itself is BT 2.0.

This dongle looks like one of those PQI USB flash drives.... One comment would be they're easy to break....so just a FYI.

it says V2 compatible != V2. It also claims USB 2.0 compatible which doesn't mean it uses USB 2.0.

transfer rate is still 1Mbps which means it's probably 1.1 or 1.2. V2 is 2.1Mbps according to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Bluetooth_2.0

so depending if it's a 1.1 or 1.2, you may have gotten the worser end of the stick.

Bluetooth is slow and limited range because its meant for like things like mice and cell phones.

Just depends on what devices you have and what your goal is, bluetooth is great for some things.

bluetooth is a piece of crap. They should do away with that standard and just make USB's wireless.

That particular bluetooth adapter is ok. You need to use their software. It comes on a mini cd.

I haven't tested the range, but it's probably not great. The radio strength meter (in their software) shows 'good' when a foot away. It's only 'excellent' when it's an inch away from the adapter.

Axshop will take about 2 weeks to get it to you, over a week to get to the shipping step. So, if you need it in a hurry or a week, don't buy from them. Otherwise, it's the cheapest place I've seen.

edit: I'm planning on using the bluetooth adapter with my Motorola HS820 headset. I can use it with skype so it's a wireless headset.

The price for this is alrite, Generally its about 5 bucks more or so at a B&M store such as microcenter. However, in axshop's defense, I have ordered quite a few things from them lately, and yes they do take forever to ship, and the packaging is certainly laughable, but I did get the goods and at some insanely good price too.

edit: about to order some led flashlights from them.
