no, this is nowhere near a wild goose chase. the reason your targets don't have those prices is because of lousy mgrs that don't update their stores databases (most chains of any store are guilty of this). the ods around here especially have staggered pricing, the winchester store is just now marking stuff down while the germantown store has cleared out of the same merchandise already. the price will go down sometime this week. it may be the area i'm in, but nearly everytime--pana dvd excluded--a deal at target has been posted on this forum, it's there when i go, may not have any in stock, but that price is there :(
just keep an eye on the stuff, or ask an KNOWLEDGEABLE employee real nicely what day do they do markdowns

I have been able to find alot of the deals from the pst. But you have to be there at the right time. Once the housewares went to 75% off they did not last long at all. I myself picked up these items:

  • Black &Decker Firestorm cordless circ. saw (reg $89.99) $22.44
  • Black &Decker Firestorm cordless receprocating(sp?) saw (reg $99.99) $24.94
  • Tfal Providence set 9 pc for $29.94 (reg. $119)
  • Delonghi Cool Touch deep fryer (reg $79.99) for $19.94
  • Delonghi Toaster Oven $12.44.
  • Downy 120 load with Downy Ball attached to it for $2.74 each
  • Gillette Gift sets $3.74 or $2.74.
  • Henckel 7 piece knife set (reg $49.99) now $12.44
  • Homedics envirascape shimmering falls with halogen light (waterfall thingy) (reg. $49.99) $12.44
  • Philips Juicer Extractor Model #HR2828 SLU# 072040282 (reg. $64.99) $16.24
  • T-Fal 4 slice toaster Advent (sp) $13.74 (reg $59.99)
  • T-Fal Pressure Cooker - $17.44 (reg. $69.99)
  • Tyco Speed Wrench Remote Control trucks (reg $63.99) to $15.94

That was only some of them items. I had to stock up for next christmas and I had seen alot of the other items listed also.

All Targets seem to be differeent slightly. I was looking for a printer and I checked 2 different stores in the Chicago area. One was $10 higher than the other and the stores were less than 5 miles apart.

Your Mileage May Vary, but I still think it's worth a look. Thanks, Zwingle.

i saw some camcorders there that had hi-8 stamped on the side...
is the most expensive one (in this case) the best?
i already have a sony hi-8, though my brother's(the one that stil owes me $40 from the $150 i loaned him in august) been saying for five years or more that he's going to buy it back from me--he had pawned it and i bought it at my mom's behest
edit about above: my profile(that's the magnifying glass) says i'm in memphis
edit about below: wait
ok, about below, the camcorders are sony and panasonic--three types of each brand. mini dv seem to be same price
edit again: there were vhs-c also--about half

What kind of camcorder and how much? The HI-8 is the middle of the road. Anyone know where to find any cheap MINI-DV's?

For those of you who say that the prices are still scanning high, keep an eye on those items. They will drop soon.

I have bought or seen everything on that list. Some stores just take longer to mark down. Once it starts, you'll want to get there fast as the employees jump all over the stuff.

I went and either everything was gone like the Black and decker stuff, or it was normal price. This obviously is a "maybe" deal.

Went last night -- didn't find anything. :(

I found Revere Copper 7 piece set, not 8: regular price $49. Also found T-Fal Provence (not Providence) 8 piece, not 9: regular price $119. No Black & Decker tools that were on the list; no Philips appliances that matched; no Mach3 "gift sets", whatever those are; Homedics clipper set was sold out :( .

I did find Command & Conquer: Red Alert with the expansion for $10. Been wanting to play that so I bought it. They had Tiberium Sun with expansion for $20. They had an RCA DVD player on clearance, but I didn't check the price since I already have one (Panasonic).

Ditto...

Printed out the whole list and took it with me...pissed my wife off because I went shopping without her (the joys of married life).

Found a few bargains, but not many mentioned on the "list". They had
some Sony video cameras clearanced but only had the display models left.
Tried to get a Sandisk USB compactflash reader for $20, but they just
had the nonworking display model (cord yanked from base). No B&D markdowns, no Tfal markdowns, no Henkels, no Mach3, yada, yada, yada.
Girl at the electronics display told me they were going to have a bunch of new stuff in in two weeks so maybe they would be getting in the Sandisk reader... Now I'll have to hang out at Target and OD looking for deals...

My local store had most of these deals, but the shelves were already bare. The kitchen section was unreal. The T-fal pan area was empty. The breadmaker was gone and they didn't even mark the shelf price down yet. The toaster ovens: gone. Knives: gone. The employees must have snatched up all the good stuff.
The Black & Decker stuff was also gone, and there were empty spots on the shelves. I know the employees got that stuff.
I got the last Phillips juicer for $16, but most of the stuff I wanted was long gone.

I also found the 2 Stanley tool kits that scanned at the clearance prices, but they were not marked down yet. Just check end caps on the shelves and scan things to make sure of the price. The Stanley tool kits didn't seem worth it even for $9 though. I have most of those tools, but it might be a good deal for some.

I went at lunch yesterday and it was awesome. My buddy picked up the versa pack tool set for 17.44. I bought my wife the philips breadmaker for 19.74. I was so excited I bought another to sell on egay!! I went home and packed up the wife and kids and went to the Target close to my house. They were much more efficient. They actually marked there clearance stuff and did it a while ago. All of the big items were either gone or restocked at regulaar prices.

SUMMARY: Thanks, got some awesome deals :)
