Hav0k99: I believe that Sprint will allow you to add a line to most of the higher plans. We share an older 1k any time minutes for $74.99 / month between two phones. In my area, SprintPCs is currently running a 2k/month any time promotion for $99, which adds the second line for no extra charge.

Just remember to add the Wireless Web option, for $5/month. Otherwise, you will receive an extra airtime charge whenever checking e-mail or using any of the internet-rerlated functions.

One of the other little-promoted benefits is that you DON'T need an ISP for e-mail or browsing. Call Sprint wireless web tech support for configuration details.

Anyone know if it's possible to get this work with the same phone number as an existing account?

It would be nice to be able to swap between this and my current cell phone since I don't always want to lug the Handspring around.

We received the ten units today via Airborne that we ordered last week before the deal was posted. Before anyone complains, yes, we ordered ten and yes we needed all of them. Anyway, I was pleasently surprised to see that these are the retail FPP in the SPrintPCS silver type boxes. The actual unit looks amazingly similar to the VisorPhone and even includes the Plantronics headset like the VisorPhone kit. I am surprised that they could ship these for $8.50 since the shipping weight for the ten was 32lbs. This is an excellent deal if you can still get it. :)

The two I ordered arrived this week and I picked up a Neo at Good Guys for $80 on clearance (Plus a camera attachment for $10 ymmv). Haven't activated the phone yet as I'm not sure which I like better. The combo seems bulkier than the Sanyo 4700 and Palm M100 I have at the moment. I tried it out briefly with *2 and the volume seems low (adjustable?) . I'll miss the speaker phone but I guess the headset will suffice. I'm charging it up right now and just realised one drawback - the PDA is stuck with the phone while charging. Does anyone know how the battery life is on the attachment? Anyone else using this as a primary phone?

Can you have two phones activated with same number (and only use one at a time)?

Coolgreany:

I have been using it for about one week, replacing my Samsung N200 / iPaq combo for e-mail.

It is on the bulky side, and will take some getting used to for phone functions. Call quality is very good, and it beats by Samsung phone for keeping a signal for 15 - 20 minute calls while driving - worked well in both Northern and Southern California.

Mobile Eudora e-mail browser also beats Microcrap PocketPC - no comparison.

Sprint will NOT let you use one number for two devices - although you can switch the service back yourself, online, at no charge.

Not sure what you mean by "the PDA is stuck with the phone while charging" - please elaborate.

858diver,

For the phone to charge using the packaged charger it has to be connected to the Handspring Unit right? Which means the PDA can't go with you anywhere while the phone is charging. I wonder does the phone charge thru the cradle thru the USB port?

One other thing. The Headset provided keeps falling off my ear - I need something better if I'm to continue to use this sucker as a fulltime phone - can anyone recommend an inexpensive good quality headset? I went by Best Buy tonite to get the Plantronics M140 (mentioned elsewhere for only a few $$) but it ranfg up at $32!!

I think a Visor prism has a car charger that will also charge the visorphone, and anyone comment? I am in the market for a Visor prism if anyone in this thread has one , PM me. Also I have a couple of the extra phones if you missed this deal.
