Hot? SOCOM Pre-Order at Amazon for $39.99

I don't know if this is hot or not, but Amazon has SOCOM for PS2 for pre-order at $39.99, $44.48 shipped. The retail price for SOCOM is going to be $59.99, and that's what all other retailers have it listed at. It won't count towards their free shipping, and I don't know if Amazon.com will honor the pre-order price. Anyone have experience with Amazon honoring incorrect prices?

Not hot. Sony stated in the past(I think E3) that they were going to reduce the price of their games by $10. You'll notice that first party games like Mark of the Kri sell for $39.99 new at stores. This is due to Sony's new pricing policy.

Since SOCOM is a Sony first part game, it's expected to sell for about $39.99 retail as well.

Pepperbreath, as fwtong said, the price everywhere else is 59.99, unlike the other first party sony games, which are, as you said, now priced at 39.99, because it ships with that headset. This is indeed a hot deal, good find fwtong

so that makes this HOT! i'm looking forward to this game... but i can't imagine playing this (or Medal of Honor) with a game controller and not mouse and keyboard :Q

I heard that Sony will be releasing two versions of the game, one version being released with the headset for $59, and one without the headset for $39.

Listen folks. I beta tested this game and I don't think many of you will want to pay more than $20 for it.

If you check the ign article, it actually says the oppisite

"SCEA will sell the game for one price only ($59.99), rather than providing the option of buying the game singularly, without the headset."

IGN may be a bunch of bastards for charging for their service, but their info is usually pretty accurate

The game comes with the headset, that is why it is $60 MSRP. Amazon has it for $39.99. There are a ton of $5 off coupons floating around.

I ordered the game with two day shipping for $43.97
If you do One day shipping it comes out the $48.xx or somthing close to that.

There is a single player mode in the game, but if you want to play online you will need the Broad Band Adaptor

Gamestop just had 20% off all accessories last week, where a bunch of people were pre-ordering the network adapter. I missed out on the deal. Maybe they'll run something like that again before the 8/27 release date.
