Well I'm gonna make this short as I'm pretty tired:
I went back to Fry's and exchanged the 570's and paid the extra ten bucks for the MDR-V6. I've only had an hour to test them out, but here are my findings so far:
1. Although they aren't uncomfortable the Sony MDR-V6 is nothing like the Senn 570. Wow! Those sennheiser 570's were like wearing velvet, and you had a straight cord instead of this coiled/ringed crap sony uses (both cords same length)> winner comfort = Sennheiser 570
2. The Sennheiser 570's were NOT made for quake and therefore don't hold even a candle to the Sony V6> winner quake3 = Sony V6
3. The Sony seem to be much more durable the the 570's and likely to last a long time. The sennheiser 570 felt like it would not survive travel very well, almost delicate. Winner> Sony
4. Music sounded great on the 570's with its acute, and honest sound reproduction. The Sony's go a little easier on an mp3 (an mp3 will "sound" better), but the Sennheiser 570's kick its (Sony V6) ass when listening to instrumental/vocal/...whatever you want Jazz I threw at them (note these were jazz off a CD, and therefore a higher quality than an mp3).
Conclusion: If I enjoyed more Jazz, and listened to all music at my computer through cd's and casually played computer games the Sennheiser HD-570 headphones would be a great/welcome addition (also sounded pretty good while watching the Lord of the Ring DVD).
Unfortunately I listen to mp3s and I play computer games. So the Sennheiser HD-570 were not the headphone for me. I am happy with the MDR-V6, but can't wait till I get more cash under my belt so i can seek out the next tier of higher-end headphone audio.
Good Luck
