Hey guys, I just noticed that the Sennheiser 212s are 34.51 , shipped at Amazon. I think this is the lowest I've ever seen them. Anyways, just thought I'd spread the word (if it already hasn't), so you all can hop on the bandwagon and sang yourself a set of these lovely cans!

Cheers!

They're usually reccomended for closed cans, and the senn. 497s are reccomended for open cans. They're unmatched for performance in the price range. They retail for about 60 - 70. But for 35 bucks, that's a steal!

have em and overall i'd recommend them.

they do get fatiguing after prolonged use (2hours+) but its usually manageable. very tight bass and accurate. they are closed, so you won't be able to hear anything if you have them on with music playing at a reasonable level. then again, if you have a pesky roommate, they do some in handy. ;)

btw, paid $50 from buy.com about a year ago... i'd grab em at this price, unless you're willing to shell out for the 590s or 600s.

oh yea, i have glasses and prefer to take them off while using these...they do give a tight fit around the ears.

dammit I have a fat head lol AND glasses. Plus I'm nearsighted enough that I can't just take them off if I wanna use the PC with them.

*damn *damn *damn!!!

hmmm general word with these are that they have very strong overexcessive bass... which keeps these headphones from reproducing a natural flat sound like the HD497s....
good headphones if your into the bass

This IS a good deal and would've snagged it if not for the fact that I already own a HD-497 which are also good cans BTW.

Well I snagged one since I still had a Mastercard $15 Promo Certificate sitting around with nothing to buy. So came out to like $19 shipped after some stupid trivia credit. Yay =)

I wear a size 7 1/2 hat with glasses and these headphones fit perfectly. They sound fantastic and at 35$ are a freaking steal.....nothing else in the sub 80$ price range [Except Grado 60's] that can touch them. I Often wear them for 4 hours at a time playing CounterStrike and have never had a problem with them. Steal @ this price nice deal!

What's the deal with the "detachable" cord? Surely it doesn't detach from the earpiece... then where does it detach?

Most of the higher model Senns have detachable cords from the earpiece....actually cool cuz when you are plugged in to your computer and you accidently forget (because the cans are sooo comfortable) and then you get up to go somewhere and instead of tearing up your entire desk, the cord just detaches. The connector is a 2.5 mm mini-phone i think. Also good cuz you can easily replace the cord.

MD.

Edit: Whoa...just looked at them again...they have y-type connector...interesting. My 570's have just a single cord. I'm not sure now, but I guess that both are detachable. Somebody else with these wanna comment?

There is a Y connector, and each of the wires going into the ear pieces is detachable. it's saved me a couple of times when i caught the cord and pulled really hard by accident. the cord came out instead of setting me back $50 :)

i recommend the headphones. they're really nice. it'd be better if the headband thing wasn't so solid so you could have more freedom of movement, but i guess you get what you pay for. in this case, it's actually a very good deal.
