Well what turned out to be a harmless, informative post for those who are interested in showing support for our troops has quickly been crapped to hell. You're right. Speaking of which, I'll do my part to keep this alive by taking out any responses i've had to people. I'd rather not see this thread locked.
Looks like some of you are willing to sacrifice a few hundred thousand innocent civilian lives just so you can save a couple dollars when you fill up your gas tank. Shame on you people! I have nothing against the army, since they are just doing their job, but this war shouldn't have happened in the first place.

First off you dont know how many will be killed on either side.Secondly youll soon see many Iraqis thankful for being liberated from that madman.The end result will be that if any terroists get their hands on an atomic bomb,it wont be supplied by Saddam.I bet hes already supplied bio and chemical agents to terrorists.Its sad that as in any war some innnocents will die.Hopefully the possibility of world war will be avoided and the end result will be an Iraq where the people are free to choose someone as a leader who wont kill and torture his own countrymen as has been documented.

They merely hoped to ensure a level of hostilities high enough to sap the resources of the neighbouring state (Iraq). Even in the context of covert action, ours was a cynical enterprise."
After nationalisation of Iranian, then Iraqi oil, Western oil companies had increased production from Kuwait. Within OPEC Kuwait acted to benefit oil companies against the interests of more populous Arab countries.
Prior to OPEC, Middle Eastern oil was controlled by the ?Big 7?. By 1975 even Saudi Arabia and Kuwait had nationalised oil. Fear of the Soviet Union and Vietnam syndrome, ruled out direct intervention, necessitating the ?Nixon doctrine? which relied on regional powers, Iran and Israel to control challenges to US interests in the region. After the fall of the Shah, military planning began in earnest.

I dont think Ive seen it put into percentages before but I know the outcome of the war would have been very different if not for their willingness (the American troops) to risk their lives (and pay with their lives in many cases) to see Hitler put down.It was a combined effort by necessity.
Its funny mriches since you're posting a political statement which is totally the opposite of what everyone else is saying -- thought political statements were banned.
People here are saying that they support our troops -- regardless of how they feel with political decisions. Our soldiers are doing what they are told to do -- legally binding orders. People's brothers and sisters, friends and family. All US citizens. Please support the people who swear their lives to defend YOU.

Tell Osama bin Laden Saddam Hussein that preemptive attacks are terrorism. To beat the devil you must fight like the devil, but you don't have to target innocent civilians like both of these people did. SUPPORT THE TROOPS REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU FEEL

Just so you know this, An unwillingness to obey orders at Burger King might only result in you being fired,
In the military an unwillingess to obey orders can ruin the rest of your life, may include a prison term and at the very least will make your already bad salary worse and you would most likely receive a dishonorable discharge "after any other punishment"
I sent my message to the troops, I am in constant email contact with my nephew on the constellation and he knows how much we appreciate where he is and what he is doing.
He really appreciates all those girly pics we send.. well.. at least WE get a kick out of sending them haha.
