Looks good so far. price is great shipping sucks but at that price it doesn't matter I ordered 4 for my new system I am building total cost with shipping for 480gb is 270.41 out the door. I am say my prayers and several rosaries and I am not even catholic people. I am just praying they do not run out. I am figuring it was a big order that was cancelled also and they are selling to get rid of them since they are not a top brand and not 10k rmp serial ata but even so excellent price. I always use fed ex they are 2 dollars more on all than ups and they are much quicker than ups. I use them everytime I get the chance as they always deliver before there time. Good luck everyone.

Same here, ordered 4 drives shipped FedEx ground (less for transit time than the fact that FedEx is much less likely to beat the hell out of a package than the local UPS hub 😛 )... but I will be surprised if this order actually ships.

spoke to my buddy and the dummy called them and he said they were very closed mouth about it. I told him "you "richard"" never do that again because if it is questioned sometimes they change the terms even if legit. I told him to shut the heck up. Not to be dishonest but good lord never put ideas in somebodies head. he just said he caught someone in a bad mood and they told him that they were getting quite a few orders at the time and could not give out info. He would not tell me the truth what he asked though I could tell as he stutter stepped when he told me. Don't worry people if he screws it for the rest of us I will kick his butt. none of us did anything wrong we just saw a great deal, so I am not feeling guilty for taking advantage of a great price. I have this overwhelming feeling to punch my buddy in the schnoz. :frown:

If we get them great if we don't thats life at least we tried and people remind me not to tell my buddy to get in on it next time. Unbeleivable... we still have a chance

Well, I ordered 2.

It would go nicely with my P4P800 Deluxe for SATA-RAID 0. It would replace my aging PATA Barracuda IV.

It's one drive. One person get's it @ $59(if it's even available) and everyone else get's cancelled. The same thing happened about a year ago at CDW with a "B" stock 21" monitor that was posted all over the web. One monitor with 2000 orders for it. Of course after the cancellations everyone called CDW "the suk" and mumbled the regular lawsuit B.S. as usually.

I wouldn't feel too bad, some other shmuck(s) is bound to have called them up

can you convert this it IDE ATA?

OfficeMax has a Western Digital 120gb S.E. drive for $59.99 after rebates if you want a standard IDE ATA.

There is no performance increase for going with SATA in current hard drive technology.

I guess you don't own or have never seen a review of the WD Raptor. Let me guide you to an easy reading final summary on anandtech.

I guess you don't understand that you are comparing a 7,200 RPM vs 10,000 RPM hard drive. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with SATA vs. IDE. Please try to understand technology before posting.

will these work in a non SATA system. more specifiacally a 8rda+

not without some sort of adaptor. I've seen, and, in fact, am currently using two IDE--> SATA adaptors but I don't know about one for the reverse....

You need an adapter like this:

SIIG SATA Adaper

This particular one is for RAID. They also make non-RAID versions.

CDW rep. called me this morning, it was a mistake...someone returned a drive and it should not have been on the web. She wanted to sell me the drives at $140 each!
