I was also looking at the Mushkin Chronos for my laptop, but this is definitely a better deal. I love Seagate drives, even though one of them is giving me issues atm.

Picked one up for my laptop, no more 10 minute boot ups for me :D

Same price at tigerdirect now and if you pay with v.me you get an extra $20 off. Came to 114.25 with shipping for me.

I was about to cancel my newegg order to get the $20 off but for some odd reason the SSD from Tigerdirect is not eligible for my shop runner so I really don't feel like waiting a week for it to get here and paying for S&H...

Hard not to pull the trigger. My current one works fine though, and I still haven't filled it yet. :)

I think for my next system I want a PCI-E SSD.

Does anyone know what controller this uses?

From Anand's review:

"The 600 and 600 Pro are both based on Link A Media Device’s LM87800 controller. The LAMD controller is the same as the one used in Corsair’s Neutron and Neutron GTX. Previous Seagate SSDs actually used a two-chip solution, with Seagate’s custom silicon controlling the host interface while Link A Media provided a NAND interface chip. The LM87800 is apparently a single chip integration of the earlier Seagate designs. The controller uses the drive chassis for cooling, with a thermal pad acting as an interface layer."

Thanks for the link Daveybrat I just ordered one.
I missed the last SSD 240 GB sale that was for $149.
It seems to be equal to the speed of 840 which is good.
Now I have two systems with 64GB system ssd and 120 ssd for documents and games.
I will use new Seagate 600 in main pc and use a new spare 840 120GB to replace the other 64 GB.

I was tempted but decided to get the EVO 500gb for 280$. We'll see if buyers remorse kicks in...

After losing the info on two ssd that died I feel safer getting two smaller drives rather then one large one.
Before I bought a 4TB drive I would get two 2TB drives for home use and worry less and yes I am lazy at back ups except for my pictures.

Great deal, just got one from Amazon. I was planning to get an 840 pro or evo but this is a way better price for a comparable drive.

As a rule I try to get memory parts from only memory companies examble my crucial VLP-1600 does 1866 with 1.35v.
I have 3 crucial m4 and 3 samsung 830s and a 840.
Because Seagate is large drive company I am hoping there 600 SSD will be as good as the earlier m4 and 830.

I am trying to post a 100 more posts by years end.
Its sad that I only post 1.6 posts a week and still spell wrong.

Got one from Amazon. Had $40 in credit card points so it was out the door for less than $100. That's the cheapest I'll ever find this much space for. Now I'll have room for all my games in combination with my 256GB ADATA boot drive.

Can't resist... in for one. Additional 5% off for using Newegg Mobile.

I'll wait for the 4770k to hit $199.99 again to start putting together my new rig. :)

Set up automatic sync/backup to a larger HDD in the same system, to prevent that from causing real data loss (you'll still have to do an OS reload, so there will be marginal loss).

If this deal also applied to the bigger drives, I'd go for it. I'd prefer not to use RAID 0, though, so I'm in for a slower drive with a worse warranty (it's all Crucial's or Sandisk's fault for not having the M500 or Extreme II 480GB on sale before Toshiba's 512GB! :D).

Yup the tigerdirect visa deal made this even more awesome. Thanks guys, I'm pretty lazy about deal finding and this site has hooked me up once again with a great value.
