UPDATE - 4/30/12

This is positively hot for anyone looking to go 6950 crossfire:

Sapphire HD6950 2GB with free Dirt3 for $200FS, no rebates: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._mmc=EMC-GD043012-_-index-_-Item-_-14-102-987

Use $50 code EMCYTZT1523, expires 5/1/12

----------------
Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-14150549-L08A

$30 rebate, plus $25 off code: EMCNFNG45

This is actually very hot for anyone who wants to go crossfire with another 6950. These cards are no longer made, and it looks like Newegg just got a special shipment in.

As just about everyone knows, two 6950s will beat a 7970 is almost any game...so this is a great upgrade idea.

Very nice find! Now if only we could see some 570s at this price now that the 6-series is out...

They will not unlock. This is a non reference board too so no dual bios. XFX was saving $$ on this one.

From the research I've gathered, they don't unlock.

Decent deal nonetheless for a 6950 2gb with a non reference cooler. I probably wouldn't use a 6950/6970 with the reference cooler, damn things are both hot and loud.

I own one of these. Should I crossfire or wait and get a card from the 7000 series?

I would crossfire or wait for the next generation/refresh, but not a 7xxx if you already have a 6950 if you are expecting a large performance increase.

This is hot. Looks like you could get 2 for ~$367.

But I have a qeustion, how does this compare to the 480 at $210? I really want to upgrade from my 460 768mb but I keep putting it off waiting for new releases and refreshes. Thinking I could get one of these and use it till Christmas and then buy something nice. Good idea?

would this be a good card to pair with a 1100T? I got one at another residence that i don't use much, but when i use it, i want to game decently. i was holding out for a 2GB card mainly b/c of skyrim mods....

better to go new on this, or will the used prices tank soon (ie: currenly the used 6950 2GB sells for the same based on my scans of the FS/FT)

This is a smokin' hot deal. Saw it in my email this morning, had to do a double-take. Sapphire brand, double cooler that is stupid-quiet. If they unlock, that's just icing on the cake. Wonder how long they will last.
