HOT!!! Rosewill 450W PSU $30 *shipped* from Newegg!!!

Wow, this is an amazing price for a 450W PSU. It's a "cheap" brand but one of the reviewers on Newegg claimed that it was on par with the more well-known brands. It's only been rated by three people, but they all gave it 5 stars. Hot! 😀

Edit: Just found out that the MSRP for this PSU is $49.99, and that it also comes with a 1 year warranty.

Rosewill is Newegg's housebrand; 100% re-badged stuff, of course. Some is good, some is not. IMO, when it comes to PSs it all depends upon the value of the mobo+CPU to be powered: budget systems OK with anything but the known-worst brand PSUs, high-end systems should get only known-best PSs. It sucks to fry a 300$ CPU with a 15$ PS.

W3RD

buy a used good PSU than a new crappy one....

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd put my system at risk with a budget PSU. I'd feel safer putting a bit more money toward a 300-400W PSU from one of the more recommended brands (Antec, Enermax, Fortron, Sparkle, etc.--AT does a lot of PSU reviews, as does TR and other sites).

But I guess it'll do for a budget system, if you already have a case and just need a PSU. Otherwise, I'd just buy an Antec case with an Antec PSU included.

Just installed this PSU... it's *extremely* quiet. I had to put my hand next to the fan to make sure it was running. It's also very heavy, which is always a good sign. I'm very happy for $32 after taxes. 😀
