newegg had one cheaper for a few weeks earler this year, 40 or 50 after rebate. Strong card for the money. Almost bit.

Very good deal, for this price range there is no match.

However, I am not sure where I would use it, useless for today's games and a gas guzzler for HTPC... However most of my favorite games are 3 to 5 years old, IMHO they stopped making decent games after that and therefore I could use it for most of my games...

I actually have a MSI version of this card and tried putting it in the Asus PC that was posted on here awhile ago.
Wouldn't boot; says the card isn't UEFI compatible.

I need to flash the card's BIOS to a UEFI compatible version. I found a user made version that I'm going to try; fully expecting to end up with a paper weight, but we'll see if it works.

Anyways, be wary of buying legacy hardware if you have a newer motherboard.

Or you can just install Windows in MBR mode instead. I had to do this with my $300+ SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB Vapor-X Edition.

That assumes that the mobo has a CSM module for both BIOS and VGA, which may not be true with a modern branded OEM system.

This card has 1400 stream processors, 256 bit memory bus, and 32 ROPs. By all rights it should be as good as an R9270X. Why the heck would they stop supporting it. As a general rule of thumb, cards should be supported until they are no longer faster than the fastest IGP or the lowest tier card on the current lineup.

It's not the performance, it's the features. It's not GCN architecture, it's VLIW5/4. Drivers probably require a lot of different tweaks for the VLIW ("terascale") architecture, and AMD, in order to reduce driver development costs, is no longer supporting older VLIW-based architectures in their newer drivers.
