Hey guys i went to my local compusa in Rockville, MD and they have Newqe platinum for 25.41 after $50 mail in rebate. If you pick this up in a B&M they have a $50 rebate instead of the advertised $20 (and which they have on the website) so it comes up as 25.41 after rebate. Lowest price i have seen is $100+Shipping. Note: THE $50 Rebate Expires 30 days after purchase and is on the box of newqe.

Linky To NewQe on Compusa.com

EDIT: Before everyone says this a dupe the lowest price on this forum was $50 after rebate.

you might be able to do it if you can locate the $20 rebate because Compusa took them out of the rebate section in the store. and i dont know if you can use both.

And i just hooked mine up, its makes my labtecs sound awesome! well worth the money, The radio works well for me too. It is external and not usb.. because all you do is hook it up to your soundcard via streo cables and you do all the tweaking through the newq itself, it needs & comes with a rather big ac adapter.

Seems interesting..but is it any good...is it worth it?

I have a SB Live value(Iknow I know) and a klipsch v2 400(orignal 4.1) will it make a diffence?

To continue on the post up above, I don't think that it's worth buying if you have a kick ass sound card already like the Audigy or what have you. It's made to up the ante for anybody who has a shizzy card and it even says so int he product description. Just pass it up if you have at least a Live! Series Card.

I bought one of these at the $50 price after rebate. When I went to CUSA a couple weeks back, there were 3 of them. Two of them had the $50 rebate and one of them had the $20 rebate. So YMMV on this one.

I just got back. This is an awesome deal. Here goes:

$119.99
- $ 50.00 instant rebates
________
$69.99 after instant rebates
+ tax
________
$75.41
- $50.00 MIR
________
$25.41

Do not bother trying to look for the $20. I tried to get both by playing dumb and after waiting for 20 mins they told me it was a misprint and I was already getting a deal with the $50 MIR.

Note: Please update the title. I am using it with my SOYO Dragon onboard sound. It does not really do anything exciting but it just looks damned cool.

Jeez, I almost bought it today when I was at the store but decided $50 is too much. Now I have to go back and get one - $25 for it is well worth it!

Look at it closely - I think you could make it an internal unit very easily. I think it can be taken out of the external case. I have an older model (NewQ Gold) and I don't use any of the special features BUT I do use the front jacks and volume control. Poor man's SB Live Platinum control panel. I have had this for 3 years now and it works great and dreses your system up nice.

Given these two conflicting reports, what exactly does this thing do besides give a small light show?

I mean I suppose I can drop X and sit infront of it, but that doesn't seem like it's intended use.

Well it ads FM tuner! What else. It has DSP and Equalizing effects and this other one that's labeled TS but I forgot what that stood for. I can hear a noticeable different. Whether it's "better" I am not sure. Like if I change it to SRS Surround and Pop I get a nice sound with my music. You can clearly hear the difference between the effects. $25 is awesome and the rebate is handled by the company itself, not some large clearing house. So I am hoping there won't be problems.

Everything is relative. It's $25 dollars so no skin off my back. I definitely think it looks cool.

Here are some pics. Look at the last few.
