the Compusa deal starts midnight TONIGHT which is WEDNESDAY, and only goes on til 2am (or is it 3am?) THURSDAY

FRIDAY has NOTHING to do with it...

go find a calendar or double-click the timestamp in bottom right hand corner of your windows start bar...

Question, how will any CSR PM this?

Most CompUSA's will be swamped, so they won't be answering their phones, so you can't verbally PM it. CompUSA only gaurentees 10 per store, i.e. it is a promotional item

I thought Staples only PM's verified instock items, and not promotional items. So after 10 seconds CompUSA will be out of stock. So they can't be PM'd like that. And the promotional item aspect will disqualify it.

So unless you can buy it at CompUSA tonight and PM it with staples by showing them your reciept, your going to have a tough time getting a PM.

Additionally most online CSR's don't allow coupons to be combined with PM's. And then you get charged overnight delivery. So you really need a dumb/new CSR or a staples that it open at midnight tonight.

Maybe you can get it to work in a B&M today by showing them the ad???

Staples will not PM for two main reasons...

First Staples will not PM a price that is a special promotion tied to the purchase of another product or requiring a copuon to purchase. In this case that product is Windows XP.

Second is that CompUSA's advertised price is $179.99 and this is the price that they will quote even if you call after midnight tonight. Staples also now includes their $$ of coupon in the PM so using a Staples $$ coupon with a PM is ono longer of any use. You can view their new PM policy here. The $99.99 router deal is not even a viable deal for most people even if you go to CompUSA tonight and try to pruchase it directly. Each store is guaranteed to only have 10 of these and most CompUSA stores are saying that they will be available to people who preordered XP first. The chances of anyone getting any of the CompUSA/XP deals who did not preorder are slim to none. If you want to know how your local CompUSA is handling the deal I would suggent that you call them and ask and save yourself some time and dissappointment.
