**HOT** PNY 512MB Flash Drive $39.99 **NO REBATES**

Title says it all. Yes, its USB 2.0 Comes with short USB extension cable. Its $39.99 in store and you even get a $5 MIR on top of that if you want to wait 2 months for $5-$0.37 (stamp).

picked up two of these myself today.

some of these come with write-protect switches and some do not. I didn't realize that until I got home.

Decent deal. I just opened up one of these things tonight, except that it was purchased a few months ago at ~$50. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to tell which ones have the write-protect switch and which don't? I'm mostly only interested in ones that have the switch. I need a pair of these though, to do PC diagnostic work, since you can't make only one partition write-protected and the other not, AFAIK, at least not yet with current flash drives.

Maybe I could RAID them, hehehe. 🙂

PNY>Lexar in quality IMO, also MIR suck 😉
The write-protect switch thing I think has to do with that some BBY stores have an old version of the 512 and some have a new one. Its hard to describe how they look, but the new ones look like one solid piece whereas the old ones have a distinct "body" and "cap" to them.

Hard to believe that these things even have a self-contained 32-bit RISC microcontroller (ARM) inside of them too. 🙂
I agree, I think these are slightly better than the Lexar ones.
