Received my online order - SoCal - SpecTek 6 n
Hats off to this thread and Office Depot.
Emailed OD for an invoice. Didn't receive one with the order. Every time I order ram from them I have to do this.

dang i didn't get an invoice with the DDR either...an invoice came with my DLink router AND the paperclips...just not the memory.
I called and the first time, a CSR offered to fax it. After getting a fax number, another CSR said using a printout from my online order history is good enough b/c they'd just fax me that same thing. What do you think? Should I call and ask for one sent to me? Don't want to lose this rebate!
Answer1: The higher speed chips are better because you can run them at faster speeds (or possibly with faster timings at the "regular" speed of 133Mhz). What they are programmed to do doesn't matter that much. Often you can override their settings in your bios and/or by increasing your front side bus. If you don't know what you are doing that can be dangerous, though (actually it can be dangerous even if you do know what you are doing ...).Originally posted by cooldvd:
Question 1 : If the SpecTek -6 chips are programmed to 'look like' PC2100 DDR, Is there any use in rushing to get these chipsets? I.e. will there be any difference compared to the SpecTek -7.5 chips or Infineon -7 chips as they will all check in at SPD 2100?
Question 2: Any comments? I got 2 chips delivered. One SpecTek 7.5 and one Infineon -7 chip. Which is better? I'm only keeping one.
