I was looking for a good deal on an in-dash mp3/cd player and this is the best deal I found.
This receiver is awesome. It has SO many options and the display is really cool. Most mp3 players with this kind of a display are much more expensive.

Buy the Pioneer DEH-P7400MP from crutchfield.com.
Then use the $25 referal coupon that can be found and then pricematch it with AMEX blue.

You also get EVERYTHING you need to install it - for FREE. That is why you should buy from Crutchfield.. they are very good.

Price $329
- $25
FREE install kit and adapters
+ $9.95 shipping
---------------
$313.95

Then pricematch with this site using the AMEX blue card.

$313.95
- $81.15
---------------
$232.80 <--- final price!

Why not buy from SoundDomain.com ? They do 105% price matching policy... you just have to email them the link and they will reply if they will beat the price.

They also have a HUGE catalog

Damn you guys are dense, can you not read? The whole reason to buy a Crutchfield is for the free wiring harness! If you buy someplace else, your savings it price will be nonexistent if you have to buy a $30 harness.

anyone who live in nyc can go to chinatown to pick up a new one for $220
i just get one for mine
and it work great

the model 740 just cost around $20 more

<< anyone who live in nyc can go to chinatown to pick up a new one for $220 >>

This is exactly what I did! I got mine for $230. This is one great CD/MP3 receiver. You won't be disappointed with it.

You can buy the harness separately from Crutchfield, and they are not that expensive: $10-$15 shipped.

When you get it, please let us know how well this unit works. Things like how long of a delay between MP3 songs and how well it handles playlists would be good info to know.

On a similar note...I'm really kind of surprised that there are only 2 multi-disc MP3 changers slated for release this spring that I'm aware of. Kenwood (10-disc or 12-disc, I can't remember, plus they have the expensive PhatNoise OEMed thing) has one and Alpine (6-disc) has the other. With as many manufacturers who have jumped on the MP3/CD head-unit bandwagon, you'd think more would be jumping onto the changer bandwagon.

sound come out from this unit is great, the average delay is around 3 - 5 sec, u won't noticed when it play regular mp3 music, but it will be big different when u playing soundtrack of broadway show or concert.
the display look "WOW" during the night
nice model with lot of function with this price

i heard they are coming a new model DEH-P9300R/DEH-P900HDD that can download wallpapers/screensavers to the unit

Guys
Have anyone of you tried doing this? Crutchfield's bill shows that the harness was given free, doesn't this prevent Amex from pricematching with other vendors who haven't included the harness for free?

Getting the harness free didn't prevent me from pricematching when Crutchfield still offered the JVC SH99 MP3/CD Unit.

Yeah, they give ya a price differeance, but if you get something for free or a discounted price with the purchase of what you want, you can't get it with the price match. I was going to buy a mtx 81000D amp from SD, but then I did not get the 1.5farad cap for a buck. Gain some, loose some.

I have the Pioneer DEH-P7200, the organic EL is the bomb. I was going to get one of these new ones, but I do not really need it, I can burn a cd and not have a whole ton of mp3s to go though, yes, it is cool, but I got a great cd player that has at least 3 years of use on it. It does not skip, I like that.

savings it price will be nonexistent if you have to buy a $30 harness

Just go to Target, Walmart, Radio Shack, Whatever, and get yourself a harness. They are less than $7. Any place that charges more than that for a harness is giving you a free broomstick with your purchase.

Remember guys warrantys are a big thing also. Crutchfield is expensive because they let you install it urself and believe me I have seen some messed up installations. You can still retain the warranty if u install it urself with crutchfield. You need a certified person to install an amp for example to get the warranty from a lot of other places and keep an eye out on how long the warranty lasts also. That factors into the deal as well. I got a sweet deal from a local guy here. JBL BP1200.1 amp Infinity 6x9's 692.3i and infinity 4x6's 4652cfp for all of 490 bux. Awesome deal and an awesome guy. 🙂

i have this head unit and its great the are more screensavers and background effects than my old deh-p7200. Any hows the down side is the seek time for the mp3's. Waiting 3-5 secs is annoying when your trying to listen to a long mix track that is cut up cause it just stops. any ways i think its cause the technology isnt there yet. maybe in a couple years. But overall nothing else to nit pick about this deck. even at $250 is a good price compaired to the alpine deck which is like $400-$500.

<< If this HU had a friggin 3rd set of pre outs i would get it!!!!!!!!!! >>

you should get the Pioneer Premier 740, which has 3 sets of preouts, and the preamp voltage is 4V instead of 2V.

<<Hi-volt RCA Preouts (x3 pair, Front, Rear & Sub) (4V) >>

pioneers are nice in general. i got the 8200 when it was tops, the year after they release the 9200... my player has never skipped which i was very suprised about. since my stock unit skipped a little. i've droped the face plate a couple times, yet the OEL display is still working flawlessly.. i would definately get another pioneer unit if i ever needed to.. the remotes they come with are very nice also.. they have a strong signal and work from almost everywhere in the car.. great plus when driving since i dont have to reach over to hit buttons..
