Hot picture action or a shameless attempt to get attention

My flight from Newark, NJ to Nashville, TN was delayed for about 45 min. Instead of boarding 45 minutes later, they put us on the the plane and parked it at "the ballpark" to wait. So to pass the time I started taking pics of the airport.

It is approved for in-flight use. And while on the ground they OKed even the use of cell phones (we were parked and one of the engines was off)

heh, not quite. I used the camera bag as a tripod so I could use the long eposure settings.

I was on continental, but I think the list is the same for all airlines. I checked the list of approved devices in the saftey section of their magazine.

Does that camara take fast picture or slow ass like all other digital camara?

Ever see the quote from the West Wing a couple years ago where Toby (I think) was on a plane calling someone important and the stupid flight attendant made him turn his phone of.

He says something like THis is a brand new 747. It rolled off the line less than 56 months ago. It has a state of the art computer system and this cell phone isn't going to cause anything to happen.

The flight attendant stares at him for a second and says "Sir, I have to ask you to turn off your phone". heh.

They won't let you board 45 minutes later because it will affect their on-time departure rating.

Great scene from the pilot episode...really let you understand what kind of guy he was going to be for the rest of the series.

"We're flying in a Lockheed Eagle Series L-1011. Came off the line twenty months ago. Carries a Sim-5 transponder tracking system, and you're telling me I can still flummox this thing with something I bought at Radio Shack?"

It was with the sky mall catalog and the barf bags in the seat pocket.

Faster than some, slower than others, there is still a little bit of a delay in taking pictures. I didn't get the shots by having a fast finger, I got them by setting a long exposure time and keeping the camera steady.

I have a 4MP Digital camara right now but by the time the thing finish zooming/focus/whatever crab it does and take the picture my friend already ran away.

Sad part is my camara don't have a manual focus control. It sucks when it keep focusing something else.
