Just visit this this page for details on the rebate and to add it to your cart:
http://www.staples.com/products/SpotLights/Philips/CD-RW/Default.asp
Note: on the top of this page you'll notice that it says the price is $109, though the actual price is $99 at the bottom of the page and when you add it to your cart.

Then add this handy pack of rubber bands to get your price over $100:
http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/SKU.asp?BCFlag=False&PageType=1&SKU=PLY12381

Then use $25 off $100 coupon from http://www.jumpondeals.com.

Then print the rebate form, wait for the next day shipping, send in your $40 rebate with the upc and sales receipt. Only $35 for a great drive!

Nice deal. You will probably see 12x drives this cheap fairly soon, but for a decent 8x drive this is a good price.

35 dollars shipped is tempting... am wondering if I should wait though for a faster cd-writer with possibly burnproof or a large buffer for a little more.

I've used a Phillips 4x CDrw for about 2 years and I've had no trouble. Since I lack a decent buffer/burnproof on this thing, I tend to make coasters now and then, but then again when you buy like 100 disks for 10-20 dollars, what's it matter.

What do I send in for the rebate? There is no receipt in the box, only a shipping invoice. Should I send that along with the UPC? or is there something else required?

When I did the visor deluxe rebate, I sent them one of the copies of my shipping invoice that was in the box. They must have liked it, cause I got my rebate.

This isn't a BAD drive at all, I've been using it for about two weeks now. I've had some problems with burning coasters, but I didn't have DMA enabled for the drive, so I enabled that and its been stable ever since. Takes about 10 minutes to burn a full 700mb CD

I got this drive to replace my dead Plextor, and I've yet to burn a coaster with DiskJuggler (as opposed to 1 out of 3 with the Plex).

I'm combining this with the firewire drive deal to use the $30 coupon. HOT! What a day!

I just called Staples for price adjustment -- bought at $109.98. The rep said since the current price $99.98 is less than $100, they would have to take away the coupon. I asked for price matching at $100 then. Sorry, they cannot do that. Was I just being unlucky with this rep?

I bought one 3 days ago for $109 and used the $20 off coupon. I emailed on their webpage to get an adjustment to my credit card. 5 minutes later it's Staples calling telling me they credited mt charge card $10+tax (She didn't say anything about it going under $100)...

Maybe I just got lucky...

Thanks BigM for the great deal. Like Lark said, it's hard to find a name brand 32x CDR for this price, much less an 8x4x32 CDRW. I jumped on this deal immediately.

Don't count on getting that Philips rebate any time soon. My Philips rebate took months to arrive. They said 6-8 weeks, but it was more like 16 weeks.
