Hot ? Panasonic shostopper (Replay TV) $199

I don`t know if it`s hot or not, but I just bought one.My local sears (decatur, AL) has them on clearance from $599 to $199, model PV-HS2000, 30 hour.

I have one, and love it. No service charge like Tivo, and you can upgrade it from it's 30GB/30Hour Hard Drive, to 150GB/150HR by installing two HDs.

Great price esp since ReplayTV kicks TIVO's ass and there's no monthly fee.

Besides I prefer ReplayTV's superior interface, 30 second quick skip button and no monthly fee!

Got it going after a couple of hours (a lot of stuff hooked to my TV ) I think I`ll like it. They still had 2 more, if anyone was close enough. I`d been looking at them before, but couldn`t see giving $599 for one.

Good luck finding one, I think these have been on clearance at Sears for a loooong time. My ReplayTV is the best consumer electronic purchase I have ever made, though.

Best purchase I ever made also, I haven't touched my VCR since I bought my ReplayTV.

If you don't have a lot of old VCR tapes or don't swap tapes with people then a PVR is the only way to go.

This is a HOT deal for those who can get in on it. If I had any on clearance near me I would definitely pick one up. I'll have to keep my eyes open, but I don't think Sears around me has had ReplayTV for quite some time...

What are the different between TIVO and Replay TV? I am thinking to get one since I am rather busy during weekday and I want to have a VCR can help me tape all the shows and NBA games for me during weekday and I can watch them during weekend.

I have had my tivo for two years now and I love it ....... PVR's will become commonplace within the next 3-5 years.... I would like to see a TV with PVr functions built in with a modular IDE upgrade....

I just picked up an opened box Showsstoper (HS2000) from Fry's last week. Price on the box was $299, which originally was $599. I talked to one of the reps there and asked if it had been discounted anymore. She said no and asked what I'd seen those sell for, since it was discontinued. I told her I had bought one before back during the time of the $100 rebate days and got it for less than $200. She did some checks and gave me a great deal at $149. Everything except a S-video cable was there. Great deal that I ended up giving to my Dad.
