Sometimes if we link deals and post prices everyone can see what a good deal they are getting. I would imagine there is a coupon or two out there for amazon at this time of year too. :)

I got this player and it's pretty good. My only complaint is it can't play SVCDs.

Bought the same player from Amazon over the summer, it does everything it says it does quite well. A very solid pick for anyone.

If you have an AMEX card, you can do a bit better through MSN/Crutchfield.

Crutchfield is participating in the MSN Passport Holiday savings promo, for up to 20% rebate (if you haven't already reached the promotion limit).

Ignoring sales tax (I don't know which states will charge use tax), this player is $190 shipped at Crutchfield.

Bump the order to $200 (or in my case, I already have ordered $330ish through Passport), and qualify for $40 rebate from MSN.

AMEX PM to Amazon to get another $30 back.

Net cost is $120ish after rebates. Silver is out of stock. They advertise their shipping as 2-3 day, so you possibly will get it in time for Christmas.

Personally, I'd rather buy a budget name-brand DVD player like Panasonic or Toshiba than a cheapie no-name player, but I know a lot of geeks get the no-name players for hackability as well.

Shipping at $10 is not cheap, but their money-back guarantee includes a no-cost return-shipping label, if for some strange reason you aren't satisfied with this player. But like others have said, why wouldn't you be? :)
