Wrong. It's plain paper. But it uses a film cartridge to "thermally" transfer the image onto the paper.

And it's fine for people who only need to send or receive the occasional fax. You might also want to pick up an extra cartridge as it only inclues a starter that's good for only 20-25 pages.
 
i have this fax machine and use it for semi-office use (lots of receiving; not as much faxing). its really good, and at this price i might pick one up for home use as well =D you can get the film cartidges for these at fry's for $14.99.

Good for only 20-25 page? No kidding? I got one from OfficeDepot, still in the box. I should return it.

Good for only 20-25 page? No kidding? I got one from OfficeDepot, still in the box. I should return it.

That's the starter cartridge. A new full cartridge will last ~150 pages. And as MeanMeosh stated, you can get a full replacement cartridge for approx. $15 at Fry's. Should be about the same price as well at Staples, Office Depot, etc.
