Expand your computer?s storage capacity with the High-performance DiamondMax Plus 60 hard drive from Maxtor. All DiamondMax Plus drives offer 7200 RPM spin speeds and Maxtor?s unique DualWaveÔ twin processor technology for a 10x boost in host command processing speed and an average seek time under 9 ms. With 2 Mbytes of high-speed 100-Mhz SDRAM for the cache buffer and an Ultra ATA/100 interface, these hard drives provide superior benchmark performance and maximum throughput. This makes them ideal for digital and video applications and a perfect choice for gamers. DiamondMax Plus drives are designed for users who require high performance along with large storage capacity. At 7200 RPM, systems boot faster, software applications launch quicker and file saving takes much less time. Make sure your system has the capacity to perform-make sure it has Maxtor.

Software, cables, and mounting hardware not included.

great B&M deal, online may give you troubles

staples has this baby for $180.

print out that page along with this one. The maxtor drive is all the way on the bottom of the page it costs $151. Although the drive is probably oem it mentions nothing of it, and model # are both identical so this should be a fairly easy pricematch. Then of course hit them with the $30 off $150 coupon to add to the insult and you should be able to get this drive. hope this work for you all, i had luck myself, any questions are welcome ;)

*EDIT* Still question wether they will PM online store. Also it doesnt mention anything about oem, but it does say its missing cables and software, but that it only if you clikc further into the page, if you just print out the maxtor product listings link above you should be safe.

comment: they do PM online stores

I know that Staples only PriceMatches prices on Staples.com, BestBuy doesn't PM to an online store and Fry's Electronics doesn't PM to an online store.. Reason being, I could easily edit the HTML codes and make the price appear much cheaper than it really is, atleast that is what the BB guy said.

you sure? because a few weeks ago i pricematched staples ram with buy.com to get it cheaper at the B&m store and they accepted it, if the policy has changed you can still do it online, but if they click the link further on that page it shows $16 for shipping so they may tackle that on, but still no mention of oem at all so thats the good thing

My staples will PM any online retailer except staples.com. They claim that if there is a cheaper price on staples.com, then you gotta buy it off of staples.com, not at b&m.

The mcpcnow drive is obviously OEM. It states no software, cable or mounting hardware is included.

I just clicked on the link, and it took a bit long to load, but it finally did. And yep, the drive is a "MAXTOR 61.4GB DIAMONDMAX® PLUS 60 7200RPM ATA/100 HD" for $151.00.

It is in stock and has a shipping cost of $16.88 which I'm sure Staples will add when you PM. The code for the product at MPCNow is: HD-MX61-72-5T060H6

Hope any of that info helps.

Just ordered it. Came to $146.15 after tax and shipping. Not a super hot deal, but I'd say it is definitely warm. StorageReview says it is one of the quietest drives, which is what I'm looking for. Almost got a WD 600AB for $137 at newegg, and I think the extra $10 was well spent.

yes i know but i stated above that that is only when you click the link to go to product description, if u print out and take the page with just the price listings you will be fine since you can claim all you can do is add to cart, and since it mentions no oem or anything missing then it will work, however if you print out the page with the product description it cleary says it oem and shows the shipping. so the smart person would do my way ;)
