Sounds like a good deal.

400 watt approved power supplies are usually $40+ on their own. And cases are certainly $20+ so to get a decent mother board included for less than $35 isn't bad at all.
 
Hmm, the Realtek LAN chipset is built-in, but there doesn't seem to be a header or port for this.

Basically, if you hook up a NIC and a soundcard (yes, I realize this board has built-in audio), you're done expanding, as all slots are filled. The included AMR modem is a nice bonus.

thejammy, the video card would presumably go in the AGP slot. I was talking about filling the 2 PCI slots. If you need something like USB 2.0, Firewire, SCSI, another ATA controller, a second NIC, a second video card for dual-display, another parallel port, etc., you could run out of slots.

This is a good board for mom'n'pop, who won't be doing any system expanding, and who will find the on-board stereo audio adequate.
 
Looks like this MB is a 1.0b or 2.0b, to just support 200 fsb Athlons, only the 3.0 ver supports 266, still a good deal, get a 1.2 200Mhz for 95-100 shipped, with GeForce2 cards (and even GeForce 3) dropping in price, and using SDRam, still reasonable price, this would be a good "first build" for some people. Your upgrade potential on the cpu is zero, but, lets see, Barebones $86 + shipping, HD at Staples, $80, $100 for a CPU, HSF, $10, GeForce 3 ti200, $145, 512Meg PC133 cas2 ram, $86, and CD from CompGeeks, $30 shipped? $525 total +/-. Some of the fun is getting it cheaper, you probably can. Use it for a year, then buy a cheap case with 300W ps, move all this into it, sell it, and build a screamer using the orig. case and 400w PS.
 
Just a heads up. and not to crap. Its a nice deal... but I have used that case for 3 computers... All older, systems... and its a bear to work with and its not the best quality. The bigest knock I have against it and why I would not use it for and system above 600-800 is the power supply. It sits right above the cpu... So it kills airflow and adds heat. It can also get in the way of the hsf... I had to remove the ps just to get the board in. I built my sister an athlon thunderbird 650 and it was always locking up, so I had to ask her to leave the case off to help with the heat and airflow... So there you go!
 
works for me, have a spare 800mHz 200fsb chip and hdd laying around, maybe even a tnt2. good enough for SETI or something
 
I have this case, and with a different motherboard layout there's no problem with the PSU interfering with the processor/HSF. From the picture of the mobo included with this deal, it looks like this could be a problem, however. Still a good deal I think.
