Good deal?

Go to AVSForums and check it out. Seems like a good deal for the size and the fact that it is a 2004 model. I paid $4400 for my Mitsubishi 62" DLP set 2 months ago, but mine has a HD Tuner, this Samsung does not.

About $400 for a standalone tuner. But if you subscribe to something like DirecTV or VOOM, the tuner is part of the receiver package.

I would only buy the standalone tuner if you plan only to catch "over-the-air" HD.

I enjoy the built-in HD tuner because there are HD channels (KTLA in L.A.) that my cable company (Time-Warner) does not provide. There have also been occasions when the cable signal has been out or messed up (usually during a rain storm), but the air signal is just fine. Funny part about it, is that I am using a $9 RCA antenna for the air signals. The guy at Good Guys tried to sell me a $30 antenna, but I decided I'd try the $9 first.
Also, I don't have one of those cable boxes. My TV has a CableCard slot. It's a PCMCIA card that you plug into the back of the TV. The HD tuner picks up the signal then the CableCard decodes it.
