hollowman - If you're a beginner photographer I would start out with this digicam or you can spend 3x and get the new Canon PowerShot S200.

Personally I think the best sorta entry level digicam is the Canon PowerShot A40 which can be had for around $249 at your local OfficeMax B&M with some luck.

The Canon S110/S200 are definitely ultra compact and look cool.

Here's what you should do. If you have $300 buy the Canon PowerShot S200 (probably from Dell.com since they have a 10% off coupon which expires 8/2 and free shipping).

If you don't have $300 then buy this.

well, i guess i will wait.. like i have been doing past 1 & 1/2 year ;)
i do have money to buy Canon s110/200 now, but i don't think i want to spend that much for something i will play for a little then let it collect dust.
so you will ask me.. why not just get this D-370?
i don't know.. i guess i am just a cheap bastard who wants to buy $300 digicam for $99.99 =)
anyways, thanks for your comment RossMAN :)

Yes you are a cheap bastard but then again that's what makes us Ferengi's so great.

You're welcome and have a great week!

Rossman:
The wireless adapter is 4.88 AR.;)

I picked up this camera so my cousin can use it, since he seems to be interested in digital photography.
He likes the A40 I bought but I hope this 370 will fit the bill for a beginner. I already have a few SM cards from a previous camera plus a SM card reader and several sets of NIMH and an extra charger, so the total outlay for me for the camera is indeed 80.72.

esquared - Thanks I'll update my sig.

This is a great price for a beginners digicam I wonder how it compares to the Fuji Finepix 1400 though.

I think I'm going to see if my local OfficeMax B&M will accept the $50 off $250 coupon so I can get the Canon PowerShot A40 for $249 out the door.

first two tries, OM gave me the "Sorry for the inconvenience ...cookies...blahblah" message.
third try, the order went through

got one for $90.93 after tax & coupon - $0.91 credit card 1% cash back - $10 rebate = $80.02 + a stamp = $80.39

Looks like I missed out on this one! The site says backordered for 92692. I'm really gonna be hot if I go down the street to the B&M store tomorrow and they have this in stock when I could have saved $25 more online. I'll still check though. Mom could use a new camera for her BDay to do her eBay stuff.
