Great for the basics but:

FIXED 4MB memory
Only PCL4 emulation (only an issue if you do linux/unix)

For most users the above restrictions are not a factor.

For myself, I really wanted the features of the nec 1450 but could not see why the 1450 cost twice as much as the 1400.

Instead I went with the samsung 660 (basically the same print engine but: up to 68MB using standard SIMS, 550Page paper tray, PCL6, and network/PS upgrades are available. Cost was $330. Also like the fact that it says "linux compatible" right on the box).

Keeping my fingers crossed as samsung gets mixed reviews for printers but so far everything is swell...
